    Default Why not BMW 5series?

Fellow pakwheelers, i am in hunt of new car, so try to search all the options. Meanwhile i got astonished by price of BMW 5series, it is near to Toyota Premio almost. The shape from 2003 to 2009 is same.
What is the reason of far far more luxurious cars have no customers. Is it difficult to maintain? Or fuel cost is way heavy on pocket. I just want a clear cut analysis from all of you, so it helps me making my mind. Thanks.

Bro BMWs are very high maintenance only made for smooth roads. Even a basic model has stiff suspension local mechanics can't fix them.
    Pakistan.. Toyota hilux..golf mk2 gtd..rolla 2.0d..nissian sunny.. Yamaha pw 50.. Coventry uk....audi v8 d11..golf mk2 rallye..honda crx..evo 8..golf mk2 gtd..Vauxhall insignia..

these cars are very expensive to maintain. They contain high tech parts and advance features but once there life is over, it becomes highly difficult to maitain. Here in dubai you can get 7 series bmw 2003-4 model for 1.5 million PKR but due to there high maintanance cost they have very poor resale. Same goes to pakistan. In pakistan its even more difficult to maitain these machines.

Bro the first reason is that they are very expensive too maintain. Yes if u buy a brand new one then thats a different story. Here in Pakistan the problem is that people use these rides roughly and when major maintenance comes they put in cheap counter parts so buying a USED German car in pristine condition is a pain. Those who have kept their rides with care don't sell them as they are a treat to own. I myself own so have a pretty good experience. Another point is that parts availability, prices.. The parts are insanely priced in pakistan, the only excuse the dealers put up is that " k jee duty buhat hai"...

Its not much different than owning a mercedes of similar models.

The problems arise when the owner "tries to maintain it with used/worn parts and ustadee" - e.g. If the mechanic does not pay attention to the angle of the suspension when retightening the bolts - It may look OK - but soon the owner will experience a similar repair in 10% of the original life. If the owner does not pay attention to the gauges and overheats the engine - most BMW engines had a water pump design fault.

no doubt BMWs of any model/series are meant to be driven - they are a joy to drive but all that comes at a price - if you buy it dont expect it to repair it to 100% service specification with suzuki mehran approach.

Repairing german cars is not that difficult - it just requires a different approach as good sense and engineering go into it. Similarly you should not expect cheap chinese parts to work in place of genuine good quality parts.

Bro, only the wiper blades for a BMW 5 series E60 cost 15500 Rs from the dealer. LOL. Routine maintenance costs go beyond 3-4 lakh Rs easily.

The MAJOR reason why you should not buy a BMW or a Mercedes unless you have a separate bank account dedicated to your beloved German motor.

I hv put in new AC compressor, new radiator, new suspension, all shocks, tyres, 2 hoses, new shutoff motor, couple of sensors etc.. And i hv put all original parts..

People even lie about a 40k Rs worth mobile phone, my bro. Jaise 5 hazar zyada lay kar factory laga leni hai mobiles ki. Honesty is a virtue to be found VERY rarely these days.
