    Social standing = Civic
    Performance, drive, fuel econ = Prius
    Running Maintenance [Lubes, etc] = Civic
    other Maintenance [Brakes, batteries etc] = Civic
    max local driving = Prius
    Max highway drive = Civic

    Resale = Civic,
    people who use Highbeams.. once day would suffer too bigtime. People who drive slow on fast lanes, remember one day a vehicle carryin ur son, dad might get late to hospital coz people like u. underaged driving will land u in bigtime trouble one day or the other.. And the Blue indication light on ur speedometer denotes "High Beams"

    I was in the same decision phase 3 months ago but finally bought a 2010 Prius S-Touring and Alhamdulillah it has been a very successful decision. I am getting amazing fuel average even with heavy foot on both local and long routes. The car has more features than civic for example traction control, dark sensing automatic headlamps, headlight washers, climate control, 17" rims from factory etc.

    And not to forget that it turns heads everywhere
    Also I would like to mention that many people have sold their new civics and have bought Prius in its place.
    Prius is a very practical car, a luxurious car which is easily your daily driver.
