these were imported like JDM orphans mostly and had 4g93 carby engines and some even had 4G63 SOHC engines, the later "shark" was also based on this same car - the suspension etc is very similar and most parts fit.
Very easy to work on - they are quite a simple built car - specially if you get the manual A/C pushbutton and lever system.
They had left mounted engines and those were plenty cheap too. e.g. a 4G63 SOHC EFI engine for this car complete with gearbox was usually Rs 40,000/- when a toyota 4AFE retailed for about 55,000/-
make sure to get the correct ECU, main relay and wiring for the engine if you are swapping. If you are planning to run on carby original setup then if its automatic you will find a TCU under the dashboard that controls the shifting. Without it the transmission wont shift. Most of them have been "shaart" and "teshtlemp along with nitto" job - rendering them useless.
