Default Buying a Generator - Suggestions required

    Aoa guys,

I was considering buying a generator since UPSes cant give enough backup in today's load shedding, but still I only want it as a secondary backup. Primary being the UPS.

Basically I just want to run 3,4 fans & a few savers on it. Only when our UPS dies due to long load shedding + in case some repair or maintenance work is going on with wapda.

So far I have accessed my need to be:

    1. Best reliability, trouble free, should run smooth, take full load, no fluctuations whatsoever.

    2. Power 1kv - 1.5kv

    3. Fuel efficient - 1ltr an hour max.
(I plan to run on patrol, I think gas would only ruin its life and performance? What ebt diesel ones?)

    4. Low noise

    5. Preferably self start

    6. Spares, services maintenance officially/easily available.

Are Chinese brands any good? What about Korean or Taiwanese? Any reputed names?

How much Honda or Yamaha gens gonna cost? Saw a hyundai generator today too, he was asking 27ks for 900watt hand operated gen! :|

I got a Loncin generator 6.5 KVA myself, the initial running time is not more than 8 hours without or with little load. For the running process, the petrol of worth Rs.1000 is enough.

20 hours of running is recommended and 6.5kv consumes approx 2 litre/hr

^^ Had that option too with a difference above 2K. --- But the plastic sheet work and congested fittings were a turn-off for me, my brother over the phone was try RATO have heard good for it.

These air cooled mugs should have lil open fitting to run long plus the coastal winds of Karachi I need to keep an eye on each and every small fitting area of my motor --- These are just my opinion.

bro rato is much better than loncin in running and durability where as loncin has dropped its quality because of huge production and you better know unlike germans and japanese, chinese ppl cnt give quality with production the only problem with rato is that its expensive than loncin from china side thts why it didnt captured pakistani market
as i also import generator loncin is much much cheaper
    loncin

    3.0kw 213$ + 50$ taxes transport
    5.0kw 340$ + 80$ taxes transport
    6.5kw 370$ + 90$ taxes transport

now calculate how much you paid extra for just name

bro jasco is better but ive heard its parts are not available and secondly quality of local brands depends on batches as in case of jasco all generators of jasco are not produced by same company so quality is not standardized sometimes quality might be good some time average depending on which company from china is manufacturing it. so on safe side whenever buying a generator of local brand like homage jasco swan hyundai daewoo etc its very important to confirm that from which chinese company this generator is manufactured and you can confirm the reputation of that compnay from local market
