Default Advice: Cultus 2010 vs. Passo 2007/2008?

    Hi PW Gurus,

I have to buy a used car for myself. Please advice. Details:

    Requirements:
-Comfortable car requiring no mechanic work soon.
    -Minimum 1000 CC.

    Budget:
    Till 9 Lac Rupees.

    Options:
    - Suzuki Cultus (2010)
    - Toyota Passo (2007-2008)

    Advice Needed:
    - Any other car you suggest in the budget?
    - If you recommend Passo, please tell me if I can get a un-registered fresh import of 2007/2008 model in this range? If not, will it be a good idea to get a locally driven Passo?

    Waiting for your help.

    Thanks!

I ended up with a PKDM 2011 Swift DX, 43,000KM's driven, one fender and 2 bumpers painted but rest in great condition, for 10.45 Lac. Just couldn't ignore the beautiful shape of Swift Shall post the pictures soon.

Thank you very very much for all the help guys. I started off with the plan to buy Cultus, but thanks to you I moved to Passo, and then from there to Vitz, and finally ended up at Swift. Had it not been for you, I might have been driving a Cultus now

Definately go for Passo, the Passo has better technology than the Cultus and is much more comfortable too

If you are a real car lover and prefer quality over anything else please go for a Passo. I know they are old and high mileage cars but they are way better than anything we have in the Pakistani market..
Pros : Wayy better mileage, Drive quality, Little maintenance
Cons : Parts are expensive, Gold for theives

true. But Passo isnt attractive to theives but the expensive features in dash of every jdm are like a gold to theives.

Bro every jdm's side mirrors, cabin panels, dvd screens are hot cake to thieves. Sad to hear about your loss, when I got my Passo, even it's side mirror got stolen and I remember how upset I was, but then I realised that we get the cars for ourselves but the side mirrors in these cars belong to thieves lol.

-Btw I got side mirrors of an old Jdm corolla they are full metal side mirrors, thieves cannot break them, I just had to get a matching paint and got them coloured. And they're powered and perfect.

, actually my mechanic got them for me sir, but they were for 2400 or 2800 cant remember exactly. Do you live in Karachi? If yes then, you can easily find them at Plaza near saddar where used mechanical stuff is long near tibbet market in the market you'll see some shops where hundreds of used side mirrors are hanging, there you'll find a pair. And do get one which fixes in your car, my pair required a bit of grinding then they got fixed. So minor grinding is okay to be done.

Yeah man i went to plaza. Most of the guys selling sidemirrors have either run vacated the place or are arrested. Only a few dons exist who charge premium prices there. Got mine from a guy who was selling brackets.
They are corolla ones, got em fr 4k.. (trust me i was pretty fed up by then)

They look ok with the passo btw, nothing like the original though.
