Default Sedan between7.0-7.8 Lakhs budget, advise needed!!!!

    - Which Sedan can I get in this budget and its model?
    - Resale is not much issue only if i can get issue free car
    - Interested in City/Civic/Lancer
    - Can I get any Vitz (i know its hatchback, but i like this car ) model in this range?
    - Most important thing is I want hassle/issue free car (I will even consider buying cultus if good sedan is not possible in this budget)

Certain questions need to be entertained first sir,
    A) Your usage
    B) Your fuel budget(how many kilometers to the liter can you afford)
    C) Your maintenance budget(some vehicles have very expensive parts as compared to others)

If you do not wish to answer the above and just looking for an all round answer, go for a 2002 honda civic exi

Following sedans are possible in your budget.
    1. Toyota Corolla 1998-2000.
    2. Honda City and Civic 2000.
    3. Suzuki Liana 2007-08.
My personal favorite is the indus shape Corolla, however, getting a hassle-free car is no less than Mission Impossible.
I would advise you to go for a 2007-08 Suzuki Cultus, you can get a clean one after a little struggle in this price bracket. Other than that, the latest option is this range is a brand new Mehran VXR Euro2, besides all odds, it will be a brand new car.
    8th Gen Mitsubishi Lancer 1.3 GLX 2006; 3rd Gen Toyota Prius 1.8 S-Touring 2010; 11th Gen Toyota Corolla 1.3 GLi AT 2014.

The civic comes in medium, since you don't have much running, priority wise, please look into the following
    1) Honda civic 2002
    2) Toyota corona 1998 1.8 litre
    3) Honda Accord 1996 1.8 Litre
    4) Honda City 2003
    5) Lancer 2004
An indus corolla being a gem won't be available in this range in good nic. Sunny is also a good option but honda is your best buy for within city use.

    @dayrider, thanks for reply,

What is fuel consumption average for civic 2002, city 2003 and lancer 2004. I dont want to go for a car below year 2000.

    Civic exi does 12-14km/l
    Civic vti does 10-12km/l
City is a big contradiction, some say it does 18, some say it does 10. This model had new technology so there were serious issues with some of them
Lancer will do 10 km/l. But a lancer will be the most comfortable though requires a lot of extra care but still comfortable.

One vehicle that I missed out, is a 2001 1.6 suzuki baleno. amazing cars. difficult to find in good condition but a beautiful beast(a bit congested interior if you are of 6 feet or above height)

if you get a well maintained car no such issues, otherwise it will stay more with the mechanic than with you.

The best car is Lancer. And you can easily get 2005 lancer in this range. Try to find a clean ride.

We have 1.3 GLX 2006 since it was brand new. The luxury it offers of driving comfort, even though lacks today's gadgets, is unmatched. People have generally abused this vehicle sadly, I hardly come across any which is in similar condition to ours. I'm hunting since a long while for a clean one and did not succeed so far.

Yes, you are right. It's drive is still smooth than today's cars. Yeah i know, it's difficult to find a clean ride.

My Lancer does more than 10 km/l in short trips like going to nearby market otherwise manages 12 km/l easily. Interior is better than new City comfort wise.
