Default Corolla 2014 in wine red???

    Dear members,

I am planning to book one Gli 2014 in the coming week but i have some serious concerns regarding the choice of its color. my mother wants me to get one in WINE RED color but i want it in GUN METAL.

My question is that to what extent is it true that the resale value of a car is less in wine red color as compared to white/ black or silver?

    immediate replies would be appreciated!

I think Red Wine is the most exciting color by Toyota. It changes its color into three different shades in the different time of the day under sunlight. Great color. Be little differentiated because black, white and grey are very main stream.

i also like red wine but the problem with colors other than black, white and silver is that they lose their shine in the long run and this ultimately results in hitting the resale value a bit but who knows at selling time buyer kay aqal per parday parr jaye!!!!!

thanks for debating on my behalf!

Graphite grey or gun grey will look awesome on new rola. Wine red is too common n prone to swirls n scratches. Secondly its not a regular colour which may reflect the specific personality of xyz car I.e 8 and 9 gen civic looks gorgeous in white n 7 gen in black. One can never prove which colour will be good bad till u study the curves n theme of the car. Corolla is so curvy it looks over on light colours. In civic it enhances the curves in light colours.

Dear, I have Altis in Red Wine, its a beautiful color but needs lot of attention and care. If properly detailed n polished this color looks absolutely beautiful. Forget about resale, just buy what you like, when its time to sell your car it would be considered by a potential buyer on the basis of how well it was maintained and how carefully it was driven. Cheers!

Your reasoning behind getting this car in tones of grey is making sense to me.

Pertaining to some issues, I might not be able to give this color the attention it deserves! Other forum members also mentioned that this color would require lots of maintenance.

With waxing, after thoroughly washing the vehicle and drying, a coat of wax is applied and rubbed through the painted surface which penetrates deep into the pores (not visible to naked eye) thus coating the surface which not only shines but also protects paint against weather and dust in air when you drive the car. Cutting short, the painted surface gets a protective coating against weather and abrasive material in air while driving. Waxing is required to be done at least once a month ( how frequent you drive).

Polishing is a process where an abrasive material ( fine abrasive paste) is rubbed over a painted surface which has lost the aesthetic look and shine over time. With polishing a minor amount of painted layer is cut (reducing the thickness of the original painted surface) to get the shine.
But eventually the thickness of the top layer of paint ( measured in microns) is reduced.

As far as brands go, I like TURTLE wax. It has got many types within the wax category.

The vehicle feels pampered after waxing the same way as we do using body lotion or chap shick for hands and lips. (Just kidding)
