    Default Car Key Lost , Plz Advice.

    Dear Fellows,
    I lost my car (Suzuki Swift 2012) key. I have another key but for safe side I want to have duplicate key , I got estimate cost form Suzuki it is about PKR 16-17 thousand.
    and they also advise me not to go for ordinary key form open market as it will ruined car ignition system and original key will also create problem.
    Can anyone advice what should i do for this, I cant afford the duplicate key form Suzuki.
    Any one having such experience please share.

    Brother the swift is equipped with immobilizer. The keys have a chip in them which enables the immobilizer system of the car to recognize that particular key and start .
    A copy key won't work.
    However the swift comes with 2 remote keys and one key which has no buttons.
    So if you loose one , you still have two keys with you.

    If you still need a key, you should call different Suzuki dealerships to ensure that your dealership is giving the right quote - check the Suzuki website and you will find the dealerships contact numbers .

    My Swifts key had a loose button and I was getting a replacement for 8,000 ( for the buttons key ) from Suzuki master motors , defence lahore a year ago. However the mechanic managed to fix it so I didn't need it.

    I asked suzuki for duplicate immobilizer key for my baleno and they quoted 8.5k. I got one made from market in 4.8k exactly as original one last week where as cheaper ones were also available

    for lost/stolen key, u need following;

    - FIR
    - Copy of car documents, invoice and certificate of sale
    - request for issuance of key

    the remote key itself will cost PKR 8150/-. The key cutting and coding cost around 4000/-. for this u will get only 1 remote key. if u need additional, well u can add.

    Confirmed the same from Carachi motors, Karachi. Dont know abt other dealerships and cities.
