Default Help Required: A low budget automatic sedan required

    AoA pakwheelers,

I'm confused to get a sedan (preferably automatic) as 3rd car (trunk required). It will be used in city (approx. 30Km/day) and 500km (round trip) on weekend (all motorway). Budget can be any but want to spend max 8-9 lac or LESS
Smooth Drive/Safety/Economy/Brand/Market/Resale are all preferences. But off course, can be compromised on 1 or 2 at most.

    Please Help. Many Thanks

get a vti oriel prosmetic, you should be able to find a ~2005 model in this price range, if you can compromise of resale, you can go for Lancer. and you can probably find a decent Toyota belta as well

I would recommend 07 Altis AT. I am currently using it and it gives me 12.5 easily on semi highway drive without AC. with AC it gives 11.5 easily. It is a great great car if you find a clean one, which is challenge btw. It shall cost you somewhere around 9 to 11 lakh... The great thing is you get all the things mentioned and without paying much. And when you want to sell it, you have already bought it at such low rate that it would maintain its resale...

Lancer has got limited market, so It would be difficult to find one in good shape and it'd take some time to sell it again. But it's a nice car if you intend to keep it for a while.

And as far as mileage of civic is concerned, i guess it'd be 8-9 kmpl city and 12-13 highway.

If you want better mileage, citi vario and belta would be better option. Belta would also have better safety features, but i don't understand why safety is low on your priority list

for older models it would be toyota indus shape ... meets all your demands .. for newer model it is honda city where maintenance economy and durability (compared to indus shape corolla) is lesser but it takes edge on fuel economy

Which ever make/model u choose make SURE to double check the Automatic Transmission, ATF Oil Level and Condition and most importantly the condition of Torque Converter ...

I shall b grateful if u spare a minute to suggest about Honda Civic EXI Prosmetic with CNG installed. Thanks bro

For better drive, safety and economy, get Nissan Sunny 1.6 Saloon. Got Airbags, ABS, beautiful interior. Its a luxury car in low price. The only down side will be comparatively lesser resale.

Resale is poor for all cars these days, anyways.

well i am not very experienced or learned on this subject but have personal experience that an abused Auto Tranny is a headache for the used car buyer ... U can i guess get the car to any good 3S Toyota/Honda and i think they charge 2-3k to give opinion which is totally worth it in case the car is abused coz later u will be spendin at the tune of 20-80k for replacing the Tranny depending on model ...
