Default Budget of 15 lacs and so many concerns

    Dear PW Members,
I have decided to sold me beloved swift 2012 DX.I bought this car brand new and drove almost 50,000 km without any issues.Only reason I am selling is to buy big car to meet family requirements.

I have shortlisted few options and now i need your sincere advice to finalized the purchase.

    1-Civic 2010 -2012 iVtec prosmetic Manual
    2-City 2013 - 2014
    3-Axio/Fielder 2007
    4-Liana brand new

My biggest concern is security , solid drive and quality so put civic on top of list which i believe has immobiliser
secondly if i go for city and add tracker later on would it be sufficient to avoid theft.

kindly recommend which options is best for me as i also wanted trouble free car for next 3-4 years.

    Thanks

True. But the only reason I didnot suggest Liana is because of the resale, as it is one of the concerns for the poster. Secondly the absence of ABS in the Rxi is a bit of concern, and the Lxi's are not manufactured anymore. I think ABS is a must if you are spending anything above 1.2 million. Apart from that Liana is an excellent car with impressive build quality. One should just know how to maintain it.

    Absolutely agree with your analysis.

Based on suggestion from PW member i guess city is the best options if it comes with immobilisers but that's not confirm yet.
some member recommends Liana has better quality which is really surprising, buying new car is my preference but in my budget only options is Liana.
If some one reading this thread own civic 2010-2012 please guide me.

    kind sir,

do not buy honda city in any case whatsoever. i bought honda city aspire 1.5 prosmatec brand new. the car is ok but the comfort level is absolutely disgusting, i feel every pothole on the road in the car and i drive it in islamabad only. absolutely horrible suspension and seats are just like bench in a park. i have wasted 1.8 million rupees on this car. its a nightmare driving it in islamabad as roads have potholes everywhere.

buy civic if security is an issue for you, but dont even think about city. i weep everyday when i look at my car (still thank allah mian alhamdulillah)

if you are looking for road grip and happy to compromise comfort go for it.

i am 24, athletic built and work out daily, i aint no old fellow who feels the ride is bouncy and rattling but this car makes my bones rattle too. i just dont get the point, its no mustang neither a charger. then why the GRIP has been given more preference thn comfort

I'd suggest you go for Honda City. Been using it since last year when I got it brand new Alhumdullilah. Superb acceleration, fuel economy and performance. As far as safety is concerned its decent i'd say as no car in Pakistan comes even adequately secure.

Civic reborn is another decent choice but it's really bad on economy.

I was advised NEVER to buy a Liana by 2 Suzuki dealership mechanics and many other people. There were mythical engine problems in it which I never saw, just abused cars.

One service advisor at Suzuki Township Motors Lahore said that the engines in Swift and Liana are different which is wrong. The parts guys in dealerships don't know that the engines in Liana, Jimny and Swift are the same. I once had to argue for 20 minutes with the parts department to get Jimny injector o-rings for my Liana as the Liana o-rings were supposedly out of stock. They only agreed when the service manager intervened.

So once again, don't go for rumors.

Visit Liana fan club and do some research. Buy a brand new car and have peace of mind.
