Default Which vehicle to purchase with a budget of 1.5 million? Halpppp.

    Gents,

I have a budget of 1.5 million, and would like to purchase a vehicle. I bought a Mehran back in 07/08 which has served me ridiculously well. It's time to move on to better things. I'm 24 and this vehicle would be under my usage during the day, and would be a family car during the night.

I have the following options in mind:
    2010-2012 Civic
    2012-2014 City
    2010-2013 Corolla GLi

I'm not particularly choosy about things - anything and everything will be a major upgrade from the Mehran.
I drive for 50 KM on average per day, the maximum would be 100 KM a day, once or twice a month.
I do care about mileage - Mehran's fuel economy on CNG has spoilt me.
I would/could/may get a CNG tank installed, or would/could/may give preference to a vehicle which already has a CNG tank installed.
Dad recommends a sedan and not a hatchback - More space for the family and stuff. Swift would have been the straightforward choice otherwise.
I know the basics about vehicles, so don't consider me as a complete layman - See, I didn't even consider the XLi.
    Liana? No.
    I live in Karachi.

Please do guide me on what should I choose. The pros and cons of each. The pricing I should have in mind for each. Which variant amongst these should I look out for. Other associated details.

Lastly, I intend to purchase the vehicle within this week, or before Jan at the latest, so if any of you have something which falls along the same lines, feel free to contact me on 0333-3047584.

    Thanks.

My suggestion would definitely be to go for a Civic and the best thing would to go for a VTi Oriel Prosmatec, but there's one thing you must keep in mind which is that it's parts are expensive. If you're fine with this, then definitely go for the Civic otherwise the Corolla is the best option available.

Civic is good but heavy on fuel.
City is economical but not comfortable.
Corolla is comfortable but not as much light on fuel as City, but the difference isn't much, and it enjoys a better resale than all of the above cars mentioned, can run smoothly on CNG too.
    8th Gen Mitsubishi Lancer 1.3 GLX 2006; 3rd Gen Toyota Prius 1.8 S-Touring 2010; 11th Gen Toyota Corolla 1.3 GLi AT 2014.

if ur family were using mehran then city will be the right choice for you ... as you also know ANYTHING will be upgrade from mehran ....
city is quite comfortable in the city driving ... don't go for city if u usually go in the interior sindh quite often ....
corolla is good too but theft prone so all in all city is the wise choice ......

Bro my honest suggestion/advice is to go for CITY 1.3 coz in 1.5 Million budget u would get relatively newer ride or almost brand new City , by switching to a 1.8 Ltr it would obviously not just increase ur fuel cost but also maintenance ...as well as transfer & token tax is way higher so chose wisely by considering all the above mentioned factors , coz i guess after 800 CC Ride, 1.3 is relatively a decent shift ....anyways best of luck

If you buy civic it will do 11km/lit so it will burn almost 4.5 a day which cost you rs 378 a day!(11340 a month and 1.3 lakh a year)
    While corolla does 13km/lit
    And city does 15km/lit.
If you have some links its better to import any hybrid .....(its my opinion may b am wrong)

If you want to keep the car insured then go for corolla because there is a risk of theft involved with corolla. Civic isnt fuel efficient so lets just leave it. So now you are left with City and go for it.
Now these following sentences are for those who might be thinking that I own a City thats why I am preferring it. Well the reality is that my corolla got stolen in 2008. I had a city standing next to the corolla but the thieves preferred to take the corolla. Till date I have purchased 5 Cities. Currently I have a Reborn(2012) and City(2014), City is highly fuel efficient though uncomfortable. If you are going on long routes such as from ISB to Lahore you will notice city to be uncomfortable otherwise it isnt noticeable on a daily drive of 50KM. Whereas Civic is highly comfortable but drinks petrol. I drive City on daily basis whereas Civic on long routes.

I'm not quoting any prices because you are in Karachi and the prices vary widely from Islamabad's market

I have recently purchased a new civic and had a 2008 city, my 90% travel is within Lahore city and guess what i am missing my honda city. so if you need only to travel within city, city is the best choice.

You may still find a zerometer pre-facelift City Aspire 1.5 MT for 15.58, it would be best buy.
Be polite on the road. Always give way to others, particularly ambulances and pedestrians.
