Default Going to Buy Honda City 1.3 Ivtec within 10 days... Necessary Info Reqd

    Salam all,

I'm going to buy honda city base version IVTech within next 10 days.As it will be my first car It would be great if anyone of you guide me through the whole process. I have few queries as mentioned below.

    1. Showroom(Honda Gateway , Honda Fort or Honda Point)....(Where I can find more cooperative n nice people) ??
    2. Do any of these dealers offer any goodies or discounts..... ??
    3. Total Cost i have to pay.... 15.12 (Factory Price) + 40K (Non Filer) (Although tax is constantly being deducted from my monthly salary) +30K (Registration charges+ Punjab Govt Duty) . Total Price as quoted by P.W Filer PKR 1,574,842 (Non-Filer: PKR 1,585,838) .Are There any other hidden charges... ??
    4. I have absolutely no idea about car insurance. So which companies are providing better n little bit hassle free insurance plan for car. How much car insurance actually costs. And what will be the monthly or annually charges

Any other Suggestions are also welcome .....

I am sorry for not replying your queries, rather adding one of my own.

I am also looking to buy a new CITY soon, I have made my mind for 1.3L.
I stil want to go for 1.5L aspire.

Do you know the difference in fuel consumption of both??
I tried looking for it on the forums but.......

Being an owner I would suggest this:

GET THE FRONT MUD FLAPS REMOVED. RIGHT AT THE DELIVERY. ASK THE SHOWROOM TO DO IT

if buying 1300 cc then USE THE TYRE SIZE 195/65/R14 so if you gonna buy rims then buy accordingly

if buying 1500 cc then you may use any size. but still tyres with 14 inch rims would be better.

    Do install rear view camera.

this is the only advice i can give you.

As for the withholding tax, you may get it adjusted against the tax deducted from your salary. All you have to do is to share the statement of tax paid on account of your car purchase with your payroll. Atleast I got it adjusted.

rightly said by 'aakbar' about Withholding Tax. In case, you could not get it adjusted in salary, you can apply for refund at the time of filing next Tax Return. So you save this 40K ultimately .
Regardig Tyre Size '195/65/R14', as suggested by 'Retaliator', I'd comment that '195' is quite big in size, which might look good and give you improved road grip but in return increase the fuel consumption. I personally thik that standard tyre width (as fitted by company) is ideal for it.
Regarding deals/offers/discounts by showroom, usually it's same every where but you can visit different showrooms and talk to the sales guy and check if you could get something good.
usually there are no hidden charges while purchasing new car from showroom. Next expense apply when you apply for registration.

    1.I like fort guys.
2.No,Pak dealers are different breed. They dont offer a single penny discount.Maybe u can try.
3.There are no other hidden charges. But i think u will end up paying around 33k to 34k for registration if u register via a agent.
4.I have AIG insurance. They are good.Car insurance cost around 3 to 3.5% depending on ur bargain skills. It is paid annually.

its not the look and feel of the car. if i describe then you probably wont do it. but you ll think of it and wish you had removed those.

I was wondering why @Retaliator was suggesting downsizing to 14s if mudflaps hit speed breaker. My friend has a 1.3 City for the past two years and he has never complained about hitting mudflaps on stock tires.

the height of city is reasonable. I too am on the stock tyres. the mud flaps are in such a position that they would touch the speed breakers with normal height but not normal width. (the wedge shaped kind of).

also with 175/65/R15 (stock size) and with 195/65/R14 the height of the car remains the same.

the reason i am suggesting 195 is because the suspension of city is very hard. it needs cushioning: both width wise and tyre height wise.

people use 195/65/R15 but that puts a lot of load on the engine, as well as steering system since change in the circumference of the wheel exceeds the normal limit. moreover the city is based on Honda Fit platform that does not have 15" wheel size. they are only offering it to compete with the rival of city: corolla.
