    Default Pakistan's New Auto Policy

    Dear Members, Please share your expert views on this. Because I am ready to buy a car but this news struck me with the fear of loosing my money in form of devaluation of my new car.

    When is it coming, Ideal Auto Policy for any pakistani will be
    1. No Duty on hybrids.
    2. 50% duty on 660s
    3. Importing age allowed till 5 yrs
    and then, Every single car on paki roads will be a jdm

    There is nothing like cars sasti hona in pakistan.

    Old shape prius costed 18 and people feared when hybrid car duty will be slashed they will face loss of 3 lacs.
    But when policy came and duty was slashed then one was not able to import that prius because it was older then 3 years and new prius costed 24lacs

    So every year one hopes new auto policy will lower prices but due to some factors it just does not happen.
    First mira costed 7 lacs but now mira costs 10 lacs.

    You still don't consider the fact that we lose precious foreign reserve on imports. No duty means more imports which equates to depletion of foreign reserves. The policy should rather be of 0% tax on fully localised Hybrids.

    Its just a joke bro, the imports in pakistan r harming our economy but what can we do, Local companies r fooling us with highly overpriced crap, that makes us go more into jdms.
    The Government should try its level best to promote local production of vehicles and force manufacturers to provide imobilizer and airbags as standard, No car older than 10 yrs to remain in market and strict check on prices and quality. But im sure that will never happen

    They've already changed the front grill! so it's new shape, and they can't imply this policy on Mehran now, as it's already a new shape, 4th gen mehran with the latest Euro II futuristic engine! These new indicators might come in 2022, 10 years after the intro of EURO II.

    They already provide two speakers in Mehran bro, and a CD played too I guess! The next thing they'd offer is Power steering and a Mehran with Power steering is way more than euro IV its EURO-M.

    I'd prefer introduction of RFID system over Immobiliser in every car, because it won't do nothing but increase the costs of production for every car on road. And as far as the airbags are concerned 95% of our population consider fastening a seat belt as the lamest thing on this planet, what good is an SRS in such situations?
