Default Need honest feedback regarding PakSuzuki Wagon R behaviour on Motorway

Friends my brother is looking for a new car and has a budget of about 1.1 million. He is looking into the wagon r option as his past ride was cultus (also brought new is 2010) and now he wants to try another car. He will be making atleast 1 trip per month to Pindi from the M2. I think that while Wagon R has more features and less price than cultus, I am not sure how it would behave on motorway at speeds of 120km/h. Especially given how windy it can get on an open road like M2. I am just thinking if the car will not be able to maintain motorway speeds on those long curves of the road, especially with windy conditions. A little body roll is expected on a tall car like Wagon r but I want to know how much is the swing. is it light swing or does the car feel like 'tilting over' in high speed and strong winds. I am looking for honest reviews so please let me know friends as it will be very helpful. I have gone through all wagon r paksuzuki club pages but didnt find any specific answer.

Please no discussion of other cars in the range like faw v2 or JDM imports as there are many threads already on such topics. I just want to know the behaviour of PakSuzuki Wagon R on motorways and highways.

Cultus road grip would be much better than wagon R. Wagon R has a look of more height than all other 1000cc cars..even santro looks smaller if you compare with wagon R car height

Wagaon R simply has not modern design.. Again it wont have better road grip than cultus.. Look at its body i mean no aerodynamics you see in it. I like santro design which looks better than wagon R even more aerodynamics look! Wagon R has modern engine good interior but designwise it totally sucks!

i would not agree at all, Cultus has much more road grip than Wagon R. by just 1 mishap you cant declare that cultus is not good enough to be taken to motorway. i had bad exp with cultus as well but still its way better than Wagon R in terms of Road Grip.

Honestly speaking, I could not imagine myself driving this car on motorway at that speed. But who knows it might be the best car for motorways Only the owners can tell us.

Was planning to replace my 2006 Altis with a new car...so decided to go and check out the Wagon R... stood their in the showroom for about 10 min...looking at the 'thing' in front of me...forget about the design...i just could not digest that the car which is priced over a 1million comes without rear power windows. So dropped the idea of getting a new car and went for a 2010 City.

@saboor73! You are right about Liana...that thing is a lizard....driving at 165-170km you will feel as it is glued to the road.

You will feel wind pressure on cabin in very windy weather but still Wagon R is very stable, it is heavier than cultus. And someone said Wagon R is not a modern design, it is atleast 15 years modern than cultus. Wagon R is not a piece of junk, checkout its built quality then comment, a part from less goodies, its built quality is similar to jdm small cars.

Wagon R is less noisy than cultus, has better brakes for highways and engine can easily go till 130-140 km/hr, but 100-110 km/hr should be enough, plus on highway Wagon R can give you 18-22 km/l of economy.

Most of the jdm small cars are also tall design, i agree that this design is not Ideal for Highway but it is very practical design for city, you get lot of space and comfortable seating position. In jdm, Wagon R, Move, Alto, Mira, Moco all has taller design.

I am comparing Wagon R with cultus in my above post, and talking about new, If you have 2nd hand car option, then in 1 million budget and highway drive you are better of with sedan, but one just cant substitute new with used car.

Define "JUNK" the parts of wagon r 98% imported it build quality is excellent it engine is of same tech of JDM alto and if shape is the only negative point you have in your mind then I can say I am seen much uglier JDM than PKDM wagon r

i have tried pinning on a wagon r, it stays more planted than cultus that comes to 3 wheels in no time(maybe my khyber, the lowest pkdm ever has ruined my habits that I get afraid taking turns on highspeed even in a corolla unless i see a hiace taking the same turn faster than me)

Tall cars are bound to swing in windy weather. I used to drive a nissan tiida earlier and it swimged badly and sold it for the same reason. Same goes with wagon R which is very tall vehicle and wind will affect it surely.

what i meant was khyber's height ruined my habit, higher cars with much more pronounced body roll feel unsafe.
