    Santro?
used to have one of them.
    was a complete....
    piece of ****.

broke down every 3 seconds, expensive repairs, no power steering, lack of parts, stupid shape, stupid seats, crappy built in AC.
engine was the source of all the issues, other hardware was fine.
    suspension is hard-ish
    interior is cramped.
    seats are rather uncomfortable.
    miliage was nothing special

grip is okay, dont go messing about and you will be fine.
Safety...well i never had a crash in that thing.

Currently have a suzuki swift. MUCH better machine. more comfortable, economical, quiet, faster, and bigger on the inside.

we had three, still have one performance was okayish within limits. grip is better suited for city use, stability was just okayish, handling was fun for city but scary for highway, safety wise it is better than cultus, Chevrolet joy, cherry qq, alto(my czn totalled one, him and all passengers survived, everyone looking at the condition of the car thought someone died, recieved a phone call from friends, is everything ok, we saw the car and...) and the car was rebuilt to as genuine as accidental japanese 660ccs and sold. the one my uncle has often refuses to start due to cam sensor issue and all three had electrical and suspension related issues arise really early compared to even suzukies. my primary ride is gli 1.6, shoqiya, khyber '98(more satisfied with this than santro) and secondary 2.0d saloon.

I have had a Santro for for 9 years now. Bought one 0 meter in 2006 and it has run 100k until now. The car stays stable even up to speeds of 130-140 kph as long as your wheels are in good condition. sorry to hear about your experience about santro but my car has run 1 lac km and i have never had any engine work done other than oil change and tuning since I bought it. Every car has it's limits and Santro is no different. Just do a thorough check before leaving for the trip. Make sure you check basic stuff like tyre condition, oil level, spare wheel and stuff like that. I have traveled in this car with family and found it to perform exceptionally well.

I have santro club since 2009, I travel once or twice in a month to Swat, Malakand Agency and DIR Lower. never faced any issue of stability, motorway use, GT road use and also drove on paved roads of Dir and Swat. never refused to stop on the way.

Well the main thing about santro is, It is nor for everyone. Santro needs to be kept with good care, I have seen many in pathetic condition on roads, and a lot with some mysterious issues. Any ways, I purchased a Santro in 2001, and it is still with us after 14 years of extensive service. 150K on the odo and still the engine works absolutely fine, and no work has been done on it, except oil change. Also regarding top speed, I have done 160 Km/h on the Motorway when the odo was at 111k. In terms of fuel economy it is very efficient.

As far as comfort is concerned, only front two seats are, and this is common in hatchback. If you are going to compare it with JDMs, then it will not be a justice, Santro was out there when the JDM culture was not quiet up. Also now in 2015, there are a lot more better options available, 15 years earlier it was worth buying.

The information in bold is a bit contradictory.
