Well, my Father bought Santro GV 2006 model brand new from Showroom. I got it in 2009, with the passage of time i learnt that the car manufactured by Hyundai, Honda (Locally) had one problem i.e. use original parts and keep it to one mechanic only. I sold my Car in 2013 when i upgraded to Vitz, but Santro was the tough and rough car. as long as you keep it in the limits of highway you will be pleased by its performance, It never let me down on any occasion. Highway milage on Petrol was close to 16 km/l (factory settings), good ac and pick keep in view the local manufactured league of 1000cc car. Rear legroom in not up to the mark but it was not an issue for me as i travelled with three adults only out of city.

Regarding safety, Santro has safety impact bars in doors and beneath the front and rear bumpers, and underneath the dashboard. As compare to other competitors it is more safe.

i would suggest u to go for cultus..
it is stable at speeds than santro.
rear seats are comfortable than santro rear seats, which make you feel you are sitting on a stool.
cultus is spacious..especially at the back..more than santro aur even swift.3 adults will have to squeeze to sit in the santro whereas they would easily fit in a cultus.
    AC of both is crap.
the only plus point of Santro is its engine performance..but mind it! it is as unreliable as a suzuki..so better go for a suzuki.

Hi Zain, Let me clarify, with great care means, it is sensitive, especially engine. It needs regular tune ups etc. 150k on the odo means it is driven more than 150,000 to date. No work means , engine is in it's original condition and performing well.

Santro got powerful engine, in 100cc you can really feel it. But it should not be driven above 120km/h keeping safety in view.

My preferrence was Honda city exi keeping in mind of my long rout that is islamabad to ry khan.
Many of pakwheel bros suggested me honda city exi as per my concerns of safety stability and comfort.
As its my first ride with a limmited 500k money, it seems like all most impossible to have a trouble free ride like city, so I have to settle for santro.

if its your first ride dont go for santro, maintaining santro is not a easy job, as i said in my 1st comment its a best n worst car, you ll make it worst in few months its very sensitive car n need lots of care. you can get 1st gen 97-99 city in this price n n that ll be better for you, else buy cultus. 2 month bad ap b yahi kaho gy PW par santro ak bekar gari hai

By stability i meant the "body roll" santro has at highway speeds..and the cross winds bother this car as well..
which in the case of cultus are far less if we compare these two cars...
Braking of cultus is not bad if we drive it the way it is meant to be driven and the brakes of santro are not out of this world either..
i would mention again that Santro has an excellent engine and performance..but that too is unreliable...coz it needs maintainance more than wat is required by a suzuki..and people buying these cars do not want to spend much on maintainance.
so dont expect something magical out of Santro
