Default Toyota corolla SE saloon 2003 vs 2005. Which one to buy?

I've to choose between SE 2003 and 2005. The 2003 model is in a very good condition with 100k mileage. Asking price is 950k, isd registered
The 2005 model is also isd reg with demand of 870k and mileage of 200k but requires some work e.g both fenders need to be replaced, two doors are painted, fan need repair and battery needs to be replaced and some other minor work.
Please advice me which one to buy?

Thanks for quick reply. I m a bit confused because 2005 car is available at a cheaper price as the repairs will cost around 30k. Does the 200k mileage matter as some people say its not a big deal?

Of course mileage matters. If you are sure that the 2003 model car's mileage is genuine, then buying it rather than the 2005 model would be a better option. Try to negotiate to a price of around 900k which i think the seller should also consider a good price for that model.

Thanks for your reply. Yes I m not 100 percent sure about the mileage of 2003 car but seems genuine. The only issue is that the seller is not reducing the price much. So will it be a good deal at around 940k?

I would only touch a 200k drive car if it is totally maintained by toyota 3s dealer, and about this Se saloon it has few common problems missing and coil issues(if i recall correctly) a 100k driven nicely kept ones would be free of this mess but you never know about the 200k driven model.

    SE Saloon resale is low
i am sharing my experience with you
when you go to the market for buying the car they will ask what are telling me 950k but on the other hand you are going to sell it will create lot of problem while selling
i will strongly recomment you not to buy SE Saloon

Well it is your choice but 2003 model seems much feasible due to the fact that no major maintainance is required but be sure of mileage.

Mileage will not be big issue if its maintained properly from 3s. I own Se Saloon and its mileage near 300,000 KMs and still its engine sealed. Like other member said, issue of coils and head is there, which i replaced in-time. Its a powerful car with all features and look. Don't buy Xli's at least on higher price if you want to keep it for long time and enjoy the ride. On economy you may get lesser, but it worth the drive. rest your own choice.

Bro if you're concerned about resale then don't buy SE Saloon. I have Altis 2007 95K driven but now i want to sale it but unfortunately there are not much buyers of Altis. Although SE Saloon and Altis are much much better cars then Xli.

Considering all the above inputs, i think you should stick to the 900 k offer and the seller will come round if it suits him. Otherwise try to look for another car. SE Saloon is a better car drive and comfort wise as compared to xli etc.

@ Maddy boy: you really sold your car cheaply. I think you could have got at least 8 lac for it if you waited a little longer.

Yes i guess you are right.

But still i think 7.15 is too low a price for the car. Even now if you check on PW/OLX, the asking price for the same model car in similar condition would range from 900k to 950k.

Anyway never mind. And you right paisay atay kis ko buray lagtay hain.
