Exclamation Buying the new Audi A4, Good idea?

    Hello

I have been thinking over this since quite a while, the car is finally available and can be viewed at Audi in Karachi. I am still undecided if its a good idea and worth the money. I have detailed specs and everything below. I have never driven an Audi in my life but have driven Mercedes and BMWs. I will be happy to hear from Audi owners and other german automobile owners regarding every factor they want me to consider before buying this vehicle. Also i will be buying from the authorised dealership so it comes with the standard two year warranty.

So my budget is Rs.6million, I can stretch a little so i am open to recommendations as well.
My dad will be primarily driving the car in Karachi.

This vehicle is absolutely packed with features so its really difficult to find an alternative, The C Class with all these features is for 7.8m PKR and that is out of my budget.

I have personally seen the new A4 and it now doubt much improved and beautiful than ever. Here in US in base model you get a lot of extra stuff which you will not find in base 3 series or C class.. like for example the moon roof and LED headlights. Audis like other German cars are little expensive to maintain. You need to test drive it and experience it as in the end you are the one who is paying for it. and these things are not replaced quickly once you buy one.. Do your research..

I am not sure if Virtual cockpit and MMI with navigation is available on local Pakistani A4 or not.. Virtual Cockpit is optional and available on upper trim levels. If you have option for it.. I would suggest you add it to your list

Here is an extensive thread on A4 https://www.pakwheels.com/forums/exo...er-new-audi-a4

If you can afford to buy one its a good deal. No other brand new car in this price range, this is the only option you have.

Audi sales are picking up in Pakistan and now they have reached a sales figure of 100units every month, which is fantastic.

All Audi Models available in Pakistan are way better in terms of standard features and price range as compared to BMW and Mercedez.

I have personally owned a 2008 Model Q7 3.0 TDI Quattro V6 for 2years and it was incredible.

    No comparison of any kind.

for this price its a good brand new car, if you havent driven audis then its a bit different than bmws and mercedes as the a4 you will be getting is front wheel drive and i never found the same german road holding and feel in audis, they are much more mundane as many parts and some engines are shared with skoda and VW etc. but the features are great for this price point and the new redesign is a improvement over previous one but nothing game changing, the only new option in this price is BMW 3 series which will have way less features but would be much better to drive, i expect audi to have better resale too though maintenance wise bmw is slightly more reliable but this new model has yet to come across any issues of reliability compared to the old model which was good but not great in reliability.

if you like the cabin and the design and arent much of a hands on driver then audi will suit you best.

i personally own a w203 btw but have driven audis and extensively driven bmws and my peers have them too, maybe some more experience with a audi will make me more favorable towards it.

make sure that your local audi dealer/showroom is not a moron, I have been contacted by quite a few people from Pakistan who said their Audis were messed up by the dealer themselves, Audi servicing requires additional steps as its not a car built like regular cars, in most cases the service position is required at the front which involves unbolting the entire front of the car as one piece. Proper audi dealers actually train their techs on this.

Pakistan is not "proper" - they hire manual labour to do grunt work on the service floor while there is only one or at max two "brains people" to test/diagnose - the result is not always best, that is why make sure you visit the showroom/dealer first and check if they are servicing it correctly.

Also make sure the local dealer/showroom actually has a ready channel of spare parts and some inventory, You might be surprised at your finding.

I would beg to differ.... i owned an AudiQ7 3.0TDI for 2years bought it brand new from Audi Pakistan.

There was no issue with servicing and maintenance. All Parts were available on the spot.

"Its not a car like regular cars!" Contrary to your not so popular beliefs its maintenance friendly.

Never ever had my q7's front been taken off for any kind of work.

Just pop the hood and its all done in a jiffy.
