Default Toyota Vitz vs Toyota Passo

    Salam All,
As nowadays passo are getting imported in large numbers same as vitz although price is less as compared to vitz,
    interior wise vitz is winner
exterior of both cars are fine,
but what about performance , mileage, power, Ac performance, ground clearance, suspension and drive.
kindly everyone give unbiased reviews, budget is not a problem and can be increased till 1400k.
in sindh parts are major problem for these jdms , only vitz and passo's parts are available,

I have used both, still have a passo. The way i see it, Vitz is better to drive, more comfortable has a feel of proper vehicle. On the other hand, Passo is a light eco box, its okay to drive, feels very light.
Lets go to the main things, Economy= Passo
    Comfort= Vitz
    maintenance and resale= similar
If its a first car meant to be used on long and local, vitz for comfort and better feel. If its a vehicle meant to be mostly used within city and occasionally long and economy is a concern then passo.
Also to be noted, in my experience, vitz requires high octane off and on while passo doesn't.

    thanks for your input.
however many owners say passo is more comfortable,
can you tell me reason behind using highoctane in vitz while passo having same engine doesn't need as frequently as vitz ? btw in my city hyd high octane is not available.
but i can see atleast 30+ vitz everyday on roads !

I have no idea why they do but they do, vitz do run, but most of them do knocking. Passo is definitely not more comfortable, if both of the same model is compared, a vitz is always better. Test them and you shall know, there is a noticeable difference, especially at high speeds, Passo is light where as vitz is a little heavy, that is why passo is more economical

Looks are something that variates between person to person, beauty lies in the eye of the beholder. Vitz is expensive for a reason, I bought a passo because that vehicle is used 95% of the time in city, on good traffic days, I have attained 18+ with ac. Very pleased with it, spacious for people to sit comfortably. And a major reason that I preferred this is the no knocking thing, vitz probably has a different exhaust system or something, but it is how it is

Well said. I also felt the same and due to this reason Vitz is expensive. Passo is a lighter car and lacks the heft that is present in vitz.
Rest the looks of Vitz are superior.
If you lack the budget then go for Passo eyes closed. Its still a great car with many features and JDM quality. Rest you know how superior will it be to any PKDM hatchback.

Not really, if that was the case, it wouldn't knock on idle, but it does after being used here for around 40k-50k, it starts knocking while parked with the ac on

Bro there might be only 0.0000000001% difference in the performance of vitz and passo.
They both are not underpowered at all because 1000cc 3 cylinder engine won't do any miracles paired with CVT transmission. And both of these can easily go anywhere and perfect for city and highway travelling.

Maintenance is mandatory for every vehicle. After 50k one should definitely clean the throttle body. To eliminate knock just use hi octane once a month. The new shape vitz does not badly knock as the 2nd gen vitz due to different oxygen sensor. Use of hi octane after a while is more the enough.

The third gen has this issue at a minor scale but the 2nd gen has a major issue of this. Even the throttle body service doesn't resolve it. Throttle body shouldn't be fidgeted with unless there is some issue with the car, it's not a regular maintenance part

Suspension of vitz is awesome. I was not expecting this. It absorbs bumps beautifully. Moreover, it also adds some fun to the ride. Due to suspension and stiffer chassis then passo, vitz has a much better more responsive steering wheel. I love cornering on my vitz
