Default which JDM car to buy in 1.2 mil budget

    SALAM everyone

The automobile market today is flooded with lots of new Japanese built cars, everyone with a charm of its own, people prefer them over PKDM cars because of build quality and safety etc. i am on the same boat. I am looking for the one that fits in my budget and is economical on fuel, buying an unregistered one is not necessary in my case, i can do with an year or 2 used JDM as well.

My budget is around 1.2 million max, The car should be a hatchback, Its for family. As i've always been happy with 90's cars for myself and i own an EG civic right now, i don't have any knowledge about these compact cars. Please acknowledge me what do i need to take care of when buying these cars and the most important of all, which one to buy. THANKS in advance.

Toyota Passo and Mitsubishi Mirage are the options.

There is a detailed thread on PW about Passo and Mirage. Check them out

I recommend Toyota Passo, it fits in your budget.

I am a Proud owner of Passo 2011 model, and also previously owned Pass0 2007 for about 2 yrs.

If you want any further information about Passo, im available.

true that, alot of fraud here by showroom people specially in karachi.

what if i stretch my budget and fit a vitz in it? how would you compare these cars plus i have heard vitz is a gas guzzler. I like the looks of vitz over passo plus its popularity.

Parts of all JDMs are expensive, but easily available.
But you dont need any part except filters etc. (which are of normal prices)
in case of any unfortunate event like some accident etc. then you need parts only, otherwise these cars does not need parts replacement etc.

    - regarding fuel economy, my Passo (with large tyres) gives me around 14-17 km/ltr mixed driving style, i.e. on highways, small roads, rushy roads, speeds 30-40 km/hr on samll roads and 80-100 km/h on highways.
