    Default help with rpm meter

    can some one help me at this


    i have mazda it has it`s genuine rpm meter but a year ago i changed the engine and the rpm meter stoped working(it worked earlier)

    i asked the electrition and was told that the oil pump on the engine does not have any place where the wire of rpm meter can be attatched...........

    tht`s why meter does not work.......


    I wanna ask is there any way that this meter can be restored to it`s original status.........(i-e rectified)

    not too sure if the original RPM will work on this new engine but an aftermarket one can be fit easily (minor wiring required)

    i was wondering how come the mehran has that place on it`s oil pump .....coz i have seen people installing rpm in mehran.....
    if that`s possible i hope i can have it tooo

    i'm not too familiar with the mechanics and electricians in lahore, perhaps any of the LHR members woudl be able to guide you better. sorry buddy.

    connect the RPM wire to -ve of ignition coil or the distributor............thats it

    Hello1
    its simple.....! RPM meter have had 3 wires
    one to power it means 12v+ and one black that is -ve...
    and the 3rd one is to get signal......connect that wire into -ve of IGN coil and ur done.....!
    its simple...!
    and don't know what he said oil pump........oil pump nothing have had to done with RPM meter...
    anywayz...if RPM meter was genuine...its +ve and -ve wires are installed...all u need to do is to connect that signal wire for RPM...

    o man all these things r absent in diesel car........
    there is no distributor or that coil thing in diesel car

    any one else nows how to rectify it.................
