    Default Alto 1000cc Milage only 7.5 to 7.9 Km/l

Someon please help, My alto 1000cc 2006 model gives me only 7.5 to 7.9 Km/litre in city with AC. Is it normal for this car or something abnormal with it?

I always full the tank and measure the milage, so it is almost accurate.

Tyres are too wide for Alto. 175/70 is the stock size for Xli Crolla.
Be polite on the road. Always give way to others, particularly ambulances and pedestrians.

Your current tire (175/60 R12) is 4.1% smaller than stock tire (145/80 R12). (%age is measured in circumference of the tire diameter)
    It means
When your odometer is Showing speed of 100 Km/Hr, you are actually driving at 96 Km/hR

This also means that you are actually covering less distance on ground but your odo is recording more Kms.

    Now the dilemma
You are already traveling under speed, even then your car is suffering from mileage. It is suggested that your tire is creating too much drag for your car hence consuming more engine power/fuel.
And/OR your your engine needs complete tunning.

One more thing, due to bad gear box design, Alto tends to consume more on low gears, and its fuel consumption increases consequently
    i)as u switch to AC,
    ii)Fully load your car
    iii) Any obstacle / load
    IV) Big tires

(For this reason I haven't changed my stock tires yet. I will go for 155/75 R12 if changed)
    Aftermath...be prepared

I get the car tuned from ENERCON yesterday, lets see what happens next.

What if I change the tyre size to R13 and alloy wheels, will it help or further reduce the milage?

    any one please

    @ poster,

Buddy, I bought an Alto in 2007, it was a VXR Petrol. What encouraged me to buy it was perhaps the fact that it seemed to have better space then a Cuore.

I ran it on super, then on high octane for some time and then mixed both (super and hi octane). The car sucks on petrol man. 8 kms / litre is what I was getting no matter how carefully I drove. Its no good man, plus it has so many issues, that you will end up spending money on it and would wish that you had gotten a City 02-03 or an 04 Civic even as the petrol average is the same as Alto, perhaps Alto's is worse.

accelrate the car softly and you will be getting good enough milage for an alto plus another thing.. get ur car tuned on petrol because when u use car on cng most of the times the car is not fine tuned for petrol and gives u a bad milage
