in your price range you might find a used corolla/corona/cressida station wagon, but you'd be lucky if it was in good condition & with clean papers.

As for size in the back,.. .the cultus is slightly larger thatn the chevy so I'd advise you go for that,.... but it'll be a tight fit.

4 people cant sit comfortably in any of the new cars, such as civic, corolla or any other.

If I were you I would go for the following cars :

    1. 1993-94 Toyota Corona Diesel(2000cc)
    2. 1994-95 Honda Accord Petrol/CNG (1600cc)
    3. 1994-95 Galant Petrol/CNG (1600cc)
    4. 1990 Mitsubishi Pajero (2500cc)
    5. 1988 toyota Hilux Double Cabin (2800cc)

If u have 5-6K as u have written above then the best replacement would be those Chinese vans. I think they have a 1000cc engine and u can install an A/C after buying one. 6 people would be a tight fit in any Sedan even a City or Civic. If u have children then they will not grow smaller but bigger each year. My advice would be to go for a van with ur limited budget.

go for Cultus as my relatives a family of 6 use it and they manage to sit it somewhat not difficuilt. The second option is corolla XE 94-96 as it would be in ur budget and also 4 ppl can sit in rear, don't go for santro as even 2 ppl cannot sit comfortably in rear seat. Cultus is best for ur requirements.

@Addi_1: sorry i didn't get any tech spec for KIA Classic, probably you wanna say OHV instead of OHC. I dont think, this is true, if it is, then i don't like it I suggest you don't buy Classic though i don't see something really bad in it. The reason is spare parts availability even if we don't discuss resale value.
