    The Ssangyong Stavic has been much anticipated 7 seater MPV people mover. This people mover drew an incredible crowd amazed at the seating capacity, extra large rear cargo area, luxury appointments and premium quality finish.

    The power plant for the Stavic people mover is a 2.7 litre 5 cylinder 121kw common-rail diesel engine. with the price of fuel being an increasing consideration the Stavic has a combined economy figure of less than 10 litres per 100 kilometres, providing class leading efficiency and torque. It is rear-wheel drive.The Ssangyong Stavic also has a Mercedes Benz 5 speed tip-tronic automatic transmission as a option.

    The Ssangyong Stavic is a luxurious and affordable people mover.
    With state of the art safety and comfort features including, dual zone climate controlled air conditioning, dual air bags, class leading economy, ABS anti lock brakes, rear parking sensors, removeable third row seats, 16" alloy wheels, rear spoiler, electric folding outside mirrors and comfort for adult passengers this vehicle will lead the people mover market.

    Its like comparing Tariq Aziz(Neelaam Ghar) with Micelle Pfieffer. The Stavic is probably right up there with the monstrosities like the Nova, Pinto and a couple of Skodas. The Lumina/Estima/Emina looks better, drives better, feels better and basically does everything better.

    Nope, I do not think I would compare it to a Chevy Nova, Ford Pinto or a Skoda (have you tried any of the late model Skodas? I think you should coz they are just like VWs, lol!). Coz, Ssangyong Stavic is based on the Mercedes Vito Van and shares the same engine too. Just like the Ssangyong Rexton shares its platform with the Merc ML. So if you folks like Merc Vito then you will like the this too, but I still say it is one UGLY van.

    The Fabia or the Octavia maybe rounder than the slide-rule designed counterparts but just donning a sheep skin did'nt make the wolf a sheep. Ok Bad analogy but you get the point. Sharing underpinnings or floorpans doesn't guarantee quality and everyday example would be the fellows at suzuki producing the Cultus. Quality & workmanship come a long way my friend, and just because they based the Rexton on the ML(which is rather unimpressive in itself) does'nt really make it contender for the LandCruiser's Crown!

    Suzuki Cultus, do not even talk about quality its futher down the line. If you like VWs then Skoda's are the cheaper versions but with the same quality as of the VW, to me both of them suck. I had a VW Passat and was forced to maintain it from the dealer all the time, and everytime I went to the dealer i ended up paying a "arm and leg" for just routine maintanence. I sold the car before I would get handicap. As for ML I never said its great, its a Estate wagon just a little higher and drives like a car, not even close to the likes of Land Cruiser or Nissan Patrol. These two Japs are the King of the offroad adventures. But there are folks who think German technology is state of the Art, I say Nuke them all, coz thats what made Japs better.

    Time will tell.
    Why dont toyota lovers beleive in equal oppurtunity. If a competitor has launched something, wait and see the response, rather then starting learned criticism right away.

    guys!!

    is "stavic" that Van parked on shah-rah-e-faisal in khi. If so, it has been named as the "ugliest van to be seen" by a leading car magazine.
    it does have a very funny-looking shape. gives an odd look from the front too.
    may be mechanically its ok but designing is really pathetic.

    WIk, the model lineup is pretty comprehensive mate. The Estima platform (CR1/2/3/4)was introdcued in 91. Branched off with the Lucida (short wheelbase) and the Emina (XR platform,longbase luxo van). The engines have been;
    3C-T, 3C-TE, 2TZ-FE and the current 2.4, 2AZ-FE. Following in the lineup of Luxo Minivans trendsetters as the Hiace cutom and the Hiace Regius Ace.

    Emina is definately one hell of a Van. but our local mechanics dont know much about it, and also he had to but one tail light for Rs. 27,000 once so my uncle sold it at a big time loss.
