    Default Fuel Consumption (kms/liter)

Dear Members! i will like to know that at what rate fuel is consumed by the various cars running in our Pakistani market. Specially following vechiles:
    Corolla 2.0D -- Se saloon -- Xli/Gli
    Civic Vti --- Exi
    Honda City
    Suzuki Baleno --- Cultus
    Kia Sportage

Please! only those members come up with some sort of statistics and figures who are using any of above car over a period of time. As i am using 2.0D Saloon and it has the following consumption:

    In City: 14-15 kms/liter
    On long: 16-17.5 kms/liter

    SALAM,
BHAI CONSUMPTION IS DIRECTLY PROPORTIONAL TO THE WAY YOU DRIVE AND MAJORILY TO THE APPLICATIONS OF THE BRAKES ESPECIALLY IN THE AUTOMATIC VERSION.

    THEN COMES THE SPECIFICATION AS:-

MY AUTOMATIC CITY GIVES IN THE LAHORE 9.84KM/L TO 12KM/K. BUT ONCE WHEN I DROVE IT LIKE BABAS AND DIDN'T APPLY BRAKES AS AFRAS I COULD THEN U KNOW I WAS AMAZED TO SEE MY CAR GIVING ME 13.8KM/L IN THE CITY

WHEREAS ON THE LONG ROUTE MY HONDA CITY GAVE ME ALWAYS IN BETWEEN 14-15KM/L.
NOTE THAT ALL I WAS HAVING CHNAGE IN MY CAR WAS 205 R13 TYRES. SO IF U CHANGE THE TYRE TO THE BOOKLET THEN U MIGHT HAVE MORE MILAGE THEN I WAS HAVING PLUS THERE WAS 3 POINTS IN THE AUTMATIC TRANSMISSION TO GET BOOST IN UR PICK. I MOVED IT TO THE 2ND POINT WHICH CERTAINLY DO EFFECT YOUR FUEL CONSUMPTION BUT GIVES YOU REASONABLE PICK, I DID SO BCOZ THE FACTORY SETTING SUCKSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS IN PICK OF HONDA CITY 2000.

    NOW BALENO THAKELEE COMES: LOL

I HAD A ZERO METER 2003JXL AND I DROVE IT OVER 18000KM, AND SOLD IT OUT AFTER USING 4MONTHS. IT COST ME RS.64000 ON ONLY FUEL.

IT'S VERY POOR IN CONSUMPTION. I HAD 205 R14 TYRES IN IT. AND WHEN I COMPLAINT TO SUZUKI THEY TOLD ME TO GET THE TYRES CHANGE. AND I DID SO THEN WE WENT TO HAVE ATEST DRIVE. COMPANY MAN DROVE IT IN THE CITY LAIKIN KIA BATAO ITNA KANJOOS THA KAY HER SIGNAL PER A/C SWITCH OFF KERTA AUR I DROVE VERY VERY SLOW KAY I WAS GETTING SICK. THEN WE FILLED THE TANK AGAIN AND WE GOT SOMETHING LIKE 11.5KM/L IN THE CITY.

WHEREAS ON LONG IT ALWAYS GAVE ME 12.5-13KM/L LAIKIN AIK BAAR MAIN NAYRPM 2000 PER CHANGE KERNA SHROO KIA, IT SUX IN DRIVING PER I CAME UP WITH 14.6KM/L EVENTUALLY.

    THATS ALL ABOUT MY CARS..
    SRRY TO WRITE THAT LONG.
    ALLAHAFZ.

Thnx for the feddback. I will request my friends to be specific on the topic. It will be better to just give the mileages insted of long discussions. You may mention ur driving style as it matters when u talk about the fuel consumption. Cheers.

Wat about mercedes S320 CDI ? 55% of the S class sold in UK are Diesel. I dont think anyone will get a diesel for racing, but it certainly does have power, performance, luxury, and even speed. So isnt it a complete package?

and yeh taking about raw speed and performance you have Lotus Elise which does 0-60MPH in under 5.0 secs and still manages to do 35Miles to a gallon. isnt it a complete package?

i have seen lotus here in UK and also have seen merc diesel
frankly speakin no offence i hate all diesel cars
and about here we have most diesel cars in UK
these goras are so nuts they even want a ferrari in diesel

so sports car and diesel are somethin that i cant digest easily
    see for ur self
u all are Vti lovers and u beat V6 parados with that
so ur beating disel cars with 1.6
if it was like 3.6 petrol car vs 1.6 petrol car if would have been a different ball game

so thats the ans for diesel that diesel cant be put in power
and as far as the luxury is concerned that has nothin to do with engine
diesel always gives vibration no matter how perfect it is

and lotus why does it run fast thats becasue of the reason its all body is
    toooooo light
u punch it and it feels like its gona break up and 35 miles a gallon it is and when u change it to
    KM per liter
its a sucky performance so it aint a big shot

Diesel no matter what cant dilever power and comfort of petrol car
and if u need power then u have to sacrifice economy
other then V8 Kompressor its good as it does 14 km to liter
and it is 5000 cc of raw power
    but that is exeption

IF u have more ideas please post them
    I always love healthy discussions
    cheers my friends

it is very simple... when u have 2 engines of equal displacement.. the perol engine will give u more rpms and greater HP. but diesel engine will generate greater torque due to longer stroke length and higher compression ratio...

can any1 please define what is bad fuel consumption? for instance if a 800cc car does 20KM/L its considered very good whilst if a 3 x bigger car say a 2400CC car does 7KM/L its considered bad. Are there any standards?

    actually my friend N4sir
point is not that what consumption is good or what consumption is bad

U all are racers and i think word ecnomy in fuel consumption is not in the dictionary of racing

i am not setting any standards

    So its simple as that
even then if there are more issues i would love to hear views and share my ideas
    chrz

actually we have no hard and fast rulez for fuel consumption .. but we may say one is better than other when we r comparing engines of equal displacement and energy source...

Hola ... Just read about fuel consumption of different cars. Thought it would be amusing to share my "bike's" fuel consumption.

I have 1979 Kawasaki 100 Sports and it gives me roughly ~20km/l. :-o

When I drive with cruise control set at 100 km/h it consumes 6 liter every 100 km that is 16.66 km per liter from a 2.5 liter dual vvti engine. The 70 liter fuel tank can take me for 750+ kms in one fill.
