Being a guy who sells parts for Audi's and know's these cars inside out, go for the ones which have lesser electronics because the newer BMW's have electronic suspension control (don't go for those) my friend got a new 5 series and he had some alignment issues went to the stealer (dealer )and they said ke suspension has been ridden hard and parts needs to be changed (he said it is a brand new car for crying out loud)costed him 3000 $ for repairs..... German cars are over engineered although they are safe but maintenance is the key, Japanese cars will take a beating but not german car you cannot drive Audi's with the engine light on it will cause so much other damage and the result will be a big hole in your pocket, another issue is they don't have any resale value especially in north America at least follow these pointers
If buying used
- Never buy any german car with 250,000 Km or + on it
- Get the transmission + triptronic checked
- The day you buy it get all the fluids changed
- Change the PCB valve ASAP
- Find a reliable guy who sells cheap parts for your Audi / BMW
- It is ok to go for used parts in good condition but never go for major parts that are used ( like brakes / fuel pumps etc)
so jump in with a big heart and a hefty wallet !!!! adios amigos good luck ........
