Okay, so I've been planning to get my hands on my first bike for about 3 years now. Initially I was very keen on a Bandit but didn't have much luck finding a good bike. The second option was a GS500E, and, I am very glad to update that I found an amazing machine, and bought it a couple of weeks back.
I got this bike from someone in Islamabad and had it transported to Karachi. It is Isb registered and in original condition. The tank still has the stock caution and warning stickers and the other decals on the bike are also original. I had plans of having it painted to black as it looks insanely good that way, but after I got the bike, I thought I might as well keep it in its original state as long as possible. Maybe just restore these details and make it cosmetically tip-top in white.
The clock shows about 77k kms. Mechanically, the engine is in great nick. The bike starts up in half a churn of the starter motor and is an absolute pleasure to ride. It's a 2 cylinder so what you can't expect is a crazy roaring sports-bike like sound or acceleration. But the 500cc of horses you're sitting over are sure able to produce amazing torque. You can really feel the power when you want to. The ride is comfortable and a lot of fun.
This is perfect for a first bike and would recommend it to anyone who is planning to start like I did.
Please do ensure your safety first - Invest in a good quality safety rated (DOT) helmet. I was unable to find one easily in Pakistan - the ones which are available are those which people have personally imported and are asking ridiculous amounts of money for. So I've called for a helmet from the US which is on its way so for now using a cheap Chinese one - importing one is the best way to go about it.
Anyway, enough of the talking. Here's a picture of the bike. Will post more pictures/updates with time.
