It was never on my radar, but somehow I sold my 2015 Altis 1.6 AT and wanted to by the recently launched 10th generation Civic but its build quality at launch repelled me though I was attracted to its looks, awesome shape and features, however, I could not convince my self to put some 2.8 million rupees on it. So it is here Alhamdolillah.
Many friends said don't buy the same car and the only difference was of just 200 cc and some extra goodies, but drive was same, feel was same. They were not right in their assessment. Though the design, looks may be the same but Grande offers a totally different experience than an Altis 1.6 AT. I cannot say much about Xli-Gli variants because have not driven them in this generation.
The drive is so smooth, yet powerful and cabin is very comfy and more quieter than 1.6. I love the instrument panel, very clear and bright and the MID is easy use via steering controls. Android based LCD has good display and touch. Initially I did not like the sound it churned, but installing MX player app did some magic and now the sound quality is acceptable and like 1.6, I play my music from an Ipod.
About mods. Well there would not be any. For now I feel that Grande has everything, even Euro Star tires are going to stay as I used them for one year and 18,000 kms on 1.6 and I don't faced any problem with them.
Overall, it is fun car to drive. I like to drive it more. Have yet to use pedal shifters and was impressed to see a friend using them in his Grande.
Overall build quality, paint quality, materials, plastics are nice and better quality. No rattling noises or sounds from anywhere. I am very happy over the upgrade and since all cars are expensive in Pakistan, in that backdrop, Grande offers good value for money as you do not have to dish out extra cash for leather seats, navigation unit and floor mats.
