Yaar....I want city mileage not hwy. I have 2.4 I4 Camry here in Seattle and it gives me 27 mpg. But thats comparing apples and oranges.
My colleague has a 1.8 L Toyota Matrix and it gives around 33 mpg (14 km/L). But a 1.8 Altis does not give a better mileage than 8.5 km/L in Islamabad city traffic. Among many factors are poor petrol quality and stop'n go traffic.
I am not expecting a Camry to do better than 7 km/L. How I arrive @ this # is take the ratio of the mileage difference of a Toyota Matrix to that of an Altis in Pakistan and multiply the Camry mileage by that same #. i.e
8.5/14.0=0.61 i.e. (Altis/Matrix)
27 mpg * 1.6/3.78 * 0.61 ~ 6.9 km/L
That almost makes sense as our 1.6 L Honda Civic does not give any better than 8.5 km/L in Islamabad---sometimes as bad as even 8.0 km/L in summer. So how come a Camry can ever give better than that?
