I thank you everyone on their well wishes and warm sentiments, even TrueEye.
As for this truck; we sold it in December last year; someone bought it as a Christmas gift for his family. We were, in fact, waiting for another Hybrid SUV from GM to launch and become available without any dealer premiums. It became available at the end of December last year and that is what we have know; the only SUV. We have decided to do our part in being more environmentally conscious and also sold our other SUV, the Q7.
We kept the Tahoe for little over 8 months and drove it for 11,000+ miles. It was a satisfying ride with enough zip to shame a few ricers; especially from 0-30 mph when both electric motor and the V8 provide hustle. It went through 7 software updates; 3 of them were critical. One of the critical updates involved transmission logic update. There was an occasion when I selected "D" and vehicle started going backwards! Overall gas consumption, 87 Octane, was 26 miles per gallon, calculated for the whole duration we owned it; an incredible achievement for a 300+ hp V8 SUV with room for 8 adults.
As rohaansaeed and salman_ksa mentioned, we bought this truck to properly accommodate new arrival in our family. The current SUV is to fulfill this need with a little extra punch, just for daddy.
wik_a, when I speculated on the Hybrid technology in this truck; I was not fully informed. Subsequently, I came to know that GM developed this technology over 12 years ago to deploy in public transport buses. They then collaborated with Daimler/Chrysler and BMW to adapt it for passenger vehicles.
TrueEye expressed his disappointment:
as i thought you were a loaded bloke
We get by my friend.
wik_a, you will also be very happy to know that our current truck, the only truck, is also a GM Hybrid product; which has enough juice to ward of any potential ricer challenge.
Please don’t ask for photos; there won’t be any this time. It is a personal decision, based solely on my observations and a strong nudge from my better half. Well, there is a reason they are called a better half.
Was that an enough update to satisfy your hunger for curiosity, salmanf1?
