@alphaX
the busy-ness was just an excuse, they were shocked when the new civic was revealed and at the very first auto show, they ordered their engineers to go back and redisgn the new corolla
they surely want to build a Civic Killer
Proof 1:
"Toyota cites the redistribution of engineering resources to ensure a smooth launch for the redesigned Camry as the main reason for the delay. Other automotive news outlets are speculating that the real reason is because Honda's new Civic has forced Toyota to go back to the drawing board."

Proof 2:
well i was unable to find the exact link/quote right now but the thing is that toyota's new model average time has reduced to 2.4-2.7 years, then why take 6 years on the corolla?
@asd123 and @alphaX:
not necessarily will the car be delayed ...
when the last shape was launched in 2002, it was with the USA or perhaps a week earlier in March or Feb of 2002
so may be we will get the next one in 2008
@asd123 and @alphaX:
there is no such thing as a newer model lancer in existence
if anybody thinks so plz post pics or prove it in another way...
