antique cars may be slow but a lot more character and fun...by the way here are some approx figures for some classic cars - all standard non turbo etc.
Jaguar D-Type 1955; Max Speed 185 MPH ; 0-60 4.7 sec
Aston Martin DB4 GT Zagato 1964 Max 155 MPH 0-60 6 sec
Jaguar E-Type lightweight Max 160 mph 0-60 under 5 sec
AC Cobra 427 Super Snake 1965; Max 185 Mph 0-6- 4.5 sec
see the movie, 'Gone in 60 Seconds' and the check out the classic 1967 Mustang chase.
At speeds as high as above mentioned, with marginal brakes and handling quality as compared to new cars make these cars a lot more exciting to drive than newer cars.
