Bugatti has unveiled new images of the world’s fastest convertible – the Veyron Grand Sport.
These shots were taken in Cannes where Quentin Tarantino’s new film Inglourious Basterds is currently wowing crowds at the famous film festival.
The Veyron Grand Sport made its debut at the Pebble Beach show in California last August with chassis number one selling for £2 million at a charity auction.
However, the first formal deliveries for the £1.4 million convertible won’t be until July with 30 of the 150 already ordered.
It carries a hefty price-tag but customers are more than catered for in the performance department:
• 0-62mph: 2.7 seconds
• 0-124mph: 7.3 seconds
• 0-186mph: 16.7 seconds
• Top speed roof up: 253mph
• Top speed roof down: 223mph
While there is epic performance, the Grand Sport isn’t what members of the Kyoto Protocol would call green.
It averages just 11.7mpg and emits 596g/km of carbon dioxide – six times more than a Toyota IQ.
But with 1,001bhp, it’s 15 times more powerful than the Japanese city car.
