Discounts are meant to stimulate demand to clear stock and also to promote sale of cars produced in December, which experience a drop in volumes because buyers prefer a model produced in January, rather than December. If Toyota Kirloskar Motor (TKM) is giving a cool Rs 80,000 off on Innova' for hitting the two lakh customers milestone, Tata Motors has step on the gas with upto Rs 50,000 cash benefit scheme across all its models to celebrate one million cars on road. Hyundai, to mark seven years of its ride in India, is offering discount up to Rs 30,000. Maruti has also announced Rs 35,000 off on its
WagonR' model and Ford has recently joined the race with a special offer for Fusion, Flair and Endeavour with discounts running up to Rs 98,000!
Toyota, for instance, to promote Innova' model has launched three schemes, which would give benefits to the tune of Rs 80,000. Buyers can take a discount of Rs 80,000 on the ex-showroom price of the vehicle or opt for any of the three schemes, which would give them similar benefits. As per the schemes they can get life tax, registration and insurance free or get interest component to the tune of Rs 80,000 completely waived off. The offer, which started during the first week of December, is only for the
G1' and `G2' variants. It is valid till the end of the month. Tata Motors is offering discounts on Indica, Indigo, Indigo Marino and Sumo Victa. In the case of diesel variants the discount is about Rs 18,000 except in the case of Sumo Victa, which has a discount of Rs 27,000.
