Yes.Pehle Aap Ko Apne Gaari Ko Chalaa ke Dekhna Chaahiye Ki ,Gaari Ke Pulling kam Ho gaya Ki Nahin.
Aisa Hi Hogaya tha mera purana(1997 model sold out in 2004)Maruti(Mehran) 800cc deluxe gaari ke saath.radiator fan bandh ho gaya tha safar ke dauraan.
when we drove around 40kms to the city and while returning ,during a ghat section ,suddenly car started "missing" and "knocking"(Kattr-Pattr sound:$) but the damage has already done! .But Once Cooled Maruti reached our House fine.
The Radiator Fan's wiring which is going through a "coupling"(male-female switch like computer power supply wirings;don't know the correct word!) has got disconnected due to copper points developed tarnish(patina-green colour which prevents conduction of electricity).
Mechanic Bhai -Unhone kaha ki radiator fan ka "fuse" fail hone se bhi yah problem ho sakta he.
So ,Radiator fans is a crucial element.Either due to faulty wiring or due to the fuse blown out to the radiator fan , Radiator fans will not work.It is tough to find the issue. Here in Our case ,Engine Seizure Occured. We changed the gasket and Car was lacking power definitely. So ,the Solution is Engine Overhauling ,where Cylinder Liners(Sleeves) are replaced with newer One and With OE(original size) Pistons. This may cost around Rs13000 indian rupees here in India. So ,we calmly exchanged it for TATA Indica diesel Re-Boring Today's cars Engine Needs Precision Work with a CNC Lathe. Moreover ,Mileage will come down while Power will increase slightly.
My Tips:
1)Make sure radiator fan works.Especially when going through ghat sections.(Hilly Roads).
2)Once in 5-6 months get Radiator coolant flow checked.
3)Check the Radiator wiring,Fuse,Couplings(like we have in computer power supply where two set of wires are pushed inside via male-female couplings) etc.Especially where areas are which sees rain and in coastal areas.
that's it.If Engine Seizure happened ,The Solution if you don't want to do Engine Overhauling is, changing gasket and changing Piston Rings as a temporary solution.

Asad.
