I have a HYUNDAI EXCEL with a very good condition. Recently after overhauling the engine I have got a problems about CAR acceleration and pickup. not understanable to me. Here are my observation
First I went to mechanic to check the Clutch/pressure plate he said after running some tests that these are all OK and I should go for tuning
I went for Computerized tuning and car was running well on plane. After some days I observed that it takes a little longer to get the engine in real motion. THAT means "If we press the accelerator even harder, it takes 1-2 second to start the RPM rising, as it is clear from engine sound. In first 1-2 seconds the it seems like nothing is going on in engine"
Moreover its acceleration in 1st/2nd is not good. and in 3rd/4th it gets good speed.
It was all fine on plane, but yesterday I stuck in a steep elevation when car after me stopped in elevation. My car was not able to move further and engine was not getting the RPM even I pressed it full
I had to go back in reverse to a slighly smooth surface and accelerate the car to get to the elevation in speed. It ran one or two seconds with very small RPM and after getting a little speed the engine got in power and I was able to climb the elevation with ease in !st gear.
so summary of this complex story is that
In elevation if car stops it does not climb again on steep elevation.
Visible problem is that the car RPM donot rise at the moment I first press the paddle. Some body says it is weak clutch plate that is causing problem.
I need to ask what problem it might be most probably. because clutch/pressure plates will cost me around 4000. I want to check for other problems if any like carburetor, plugs/wiring.
Please help in this regard
