Well.... The avg shud be between 45-50 for euro model and non euro model gives 35-40 avg km per litre...
Now i share my personal experience... While driving at avg speed of 60-80... I get avg around 48...
All becoz of low compression engine of gs150.. When u ride it around 60-80.. Bike runs smooth does nt feels like pressurizing the engine ... So the best possible millage shud come where bike runs smoothly....
For setting mixture... First get ur bike in hot state... Ride it for good 1 to 4 km and ride it hard... After that U must have experience of listening the strokes.... Increase the RPM via RPM SCREW at 2000 rpm... Close down the mixture screw (clockwise) and gently start opening it (anticlockwise ).... Before that... (assuming that u know whr RPM and mixture located on Carburetor)...
Now just listen it carefully ... Whreve u see strokes r not heavy ( shud b shrill sound of strokes) and are equal... Dig dig sound is coming at equal interval... Thats the optimum setting... Here ur bike shud do top speed and non euro will give around 35 millage... Now just rotate back 25% percent of total rotation (clockwise).... This point having good carburetor condition can give millage upto 40... For Euro it will give millage around 48 but... Will not go to 120 mark .. And on double .. It can do 100 ...
Now coming toward valves clearance...
Its simple.. After setting T marker , Stock setting is 0.004 for jntake valve (carburetor side) and 0.006 is for exaust valve (silencer side valve)
But recommended is after setting the T Marker vakve clearance shud b 0.005 for intake and 0.006 for exaust... This will increase tappiet sound a bit but bike will be supper smooth...
And valve clearance shud b done in cold state...
Traditional mechanics will urgue on this valve clearance setting but this is wat i do... And i did three 400km trips after setting it... And tappiets and valves r unchanged since then..
Please opt it only if u have good quality tools.. Specially 17" for Tappiet covers ... 12" for removing euro unit..14" for setting the T Marker.... And 10 " for Tappiet nut adjsutment and L key of 14" to open T marker opener..... Rachits and L key set r must ... Otherwise u wud end harming the nut corners .... And this can cost u
