KARACHI: Four pedestrians including two women and a child were killed and two men critically injured in a road accident in Clifton on Tuesday night, sources said.
The accident took place between Khayaban-e-Shujaat and Khayaban-e-Shamsheer in the Darakhshan police precincts, the police said.
Police claimed to have arrested two men responsible for the incident.
“Saad Ali Khan and Munir Mengal were in a blue Toyota Corolla (registration No AFN-933) when, due to over-speeding, Khan first hit a Honda Civic (registration No ARU-640) at the traffic signal and then some pedestrians,” Darakhshan Head Muharrar Shahid said.
Khan, whose father is the Federal Investigation Agency Sukkur Deputy Director, and Mengal have been detained, he added.
He said the victims were immediately taken to different government and private hospitals.
Initial investigation suggested the deceased women, Sabia and Saima, used to work as housemaids; however, the other victims were yet to be identified.
