Aoa guys,
I own a 1972 TE-20 Toyota Corolla which is driven only on petrol, so mechanically (powertrain wise) it is very well kept mashallah. Now the thing is it needed a little front suspension work done as was prescribed by my mechanic. After charging me around 8000 bucks, he did work on the Ball joints, bushes and steering box (which btw is worse now; earlier it only had a little play and now the play is showing it's ugly butt again along with creaks & grinds whenever the wheel is turned towards the right hand side), etc. The suspension now is another saga altogether. The wheels were straight & inline before, now they just sit crooked to the right side and the right tyre makes a screeching noise every once in a while. Our genius ustaad tells me to get an alignment and the crookedness and the screeching noise will be gone like it never existed. Is he right?
Anyways, the main reason why I had agreed to have the suspension work done was a cluttering sound from both front suspension (right side and left side) whenever I encountered a pothole, even going at 10 kmph it used to clutter noise upon hitting a pothole. And now....surprise surprise, the sound came back after a couple of days and it's louder than ever!
Now I am astonished at the fact that after investing in ~8000 pkr on the suspension, the ailments are still there (mainly the clattering).
Tell me o wise PakWheels what shalth I doeth?
Any good & honest suspension gurus in Karachi?
I want Xulfiqar to chime in too (hey xulfiqar I'm the guy with the te-20 from Karachi if you kinda remember!)
Thanks for reading guys. (H)
