My Corolla 2.0D Saloon 2004 has started a screaching sound. Its not always, it just happened thrice and today it happened again with low intensity after I got my car serviced.Later on it faded and now one can only hear when bonnet is opened and you pay attention by going near to belts.
Whats this sound coming from?Is it some bearing or what?
Your cars belt has completed its service life and needs to be changed. The belt rubber is hard now.It is not soft enough to grip the pulleys. As a result the belt slips and produce a screeching sound. You can hear this voice in morning,in first and second gears. You have to replace it or it will break anywhere during your travel, causing the engine to heat up
I hear the same screeching sound in the first start but within a minute its gone after that whole day I do not hear it.
do I need to change the belts too, ??
slight application of grease would make it quiet for sometimealso tightening the belt a bit might be a solutionbut if its an old car and the belt hasnt been changed for a long time, its better to get it changed
to change belt i suggest the brand ( BANDO )
grease is temperory good but not longtime solvation
to quickly rid of from screaching voice apply small quantity of water on running belt
change the belt for long life easy and silense drive
