SALAM, Dear PW, please guide me for new tyres for my khyber. currently I'm using Dunlop SP sport 165/70/ R 12. I want to keep the same profile. Many people told me that dunlop are having many complains and I should go for something else. What you guys suggest! I need comfortable and durable tyres.
Also please suggest me a good shop in Pindi coz Shops in abbottabad mostly don't have fresh tyres! Thnx
Ws,I,ve been using Dunlop ECO in 165/70/12 for one year now and I,ve found it to be comfortable.More polyester so the ride is comfortable. You can get them changed from shops at Hathi chowk in saddar Rwp.
@daniyalahmad Thanks for prompt reply. Do you have any experience with Bridgestone or Yokohama? Are those tyres that you are using are Japanese ??
anyone else!
Naah,No experience regarding Bridgestone or Yokohama.I,ve only used Kumho and Dunlop.Yes the ones in my car are Japanese.Try to find the Japanese ones or the Korean ones.Yokohama would be difficult to find in the specified size.Hankook H706 Radial might be available. It is good but I would prefer ECO over it.Bridgestone B70 is also good but a bit harder than ECO.
BTW Nice avatar! I liked it
thnx mate. That my car's pix dear. You can take it if you like. I will put another one!
got Yokohama 165/70/ r12 from pindi! very nice so far. I feel huge difference. Ride is far more soft now!!
BTW its S707
Whats the price per tyre?
Had I seen this thread before I would have adviced Yokohama S707
Yar I got 16800 4 tyres, and also 4 nozzles which he gave free as I stressed him for more discount!:))
And in atd same nozzle is sold at 100 would you believe!!!
Btw I m very happy with tyres, very good tyres!!!
yeah mate thanks!! indeed much better option than Dunlop coz I have heard so many complains about them!!!
i'd second @bluesparka friend is using Yokohama S707 in his cuore, & his car feels grippy & soft. i'm using bridgestone B70, & do not recommend them, it seems as if the car is on the brink of loosing control. used Dunlop SP Sport 490 before that, 2 different sets, & both had problems of sidewall puncture & puncture....
Prices have increased. You got one tire for 4200 Rs.Last year I bought the same Yokohama S707 165/70/R12 tires for 3500 Rs per tire. 4 tires for 14,000 Rs. The date printed on tires showed that they were 6 months old at the time of purchase. How old are your tires? These tires are performing very well on my Suzuki Khyber. Road grip is good as compared to my previous Bridgestone B70 tires. Or may be they had become hard as I used them for 4 years.Soft tires are good for braking and comfort but they don't last very long. I am getting a feeling that my Yokohamas would not last 4 years. Its not that they are giving me any sort of issues, but the grooves appear to be less deep now. But I think that good road grip and braking completely worth it.
Hi guys,
I am also planning to buy tyres for my khyber... Many people recommended me bridgestone... yokohamas are soft? how much time do the take to wear out? any experience.
I am in lahore... where is the reliable place to buy original japanese tyres?
It depends how much you drive.
dear my tyres are around 8-9 months old!
I guess that acceptable coz it takes some time for shipping as well.
I think there were maufactured in mid of 2010.
very soft dear and very quiet as well. My previous Sp sport were noisy. Infact now I realized they were noisy as Im using Yokos. I would recommend you to go for Yokohama!
i also have same tyres for my swift! not even a single puncture since 2 years aqnd the road grip is really nice! bought 1 tyre for 2750rs 2 years ago! my advise is to go for dunlop eco! they are good!
