Top speed is 140 km/h approximately, but I will never do this stupid act of achieving top speed on such a small car.
The controllable speed of Alto is maximum 100km/h, after that it is ready to fly.
I have been using it for 3 years now and quite satisfied with it,go for it you will not regret it.
Alto isn't a bad car at all.
It becomes bad when people drive Civics and Corollas and start expecting too much from an Alto.I have been using an Alto for three years without any major issue.I must admit that I am a bit lazy when it comes to maintaining the car because I am a student and don't get much time.Just because of this, I was facing some minor problems in the recent days but all the problems have been resolved now.
I am giving you some tips for maintaining Alto:-
- I have been using ZIC A-Plus in Alto from the day one and never changed the brand.Whatever the brand you choose, stick to it.Change the oil at maximum 2500km.Although,I flush mine at 2000.
2.Check airfilter from time to time and if it needs replacement, replace it.
3.Never give it in the hands of drivers. If you are yourself driving the car, then never abuse it.
4.On a bumpy, uneven road drive the car as slow as possible to avoid any suspension problem. Also, stick to the stock tyre size 145/80/R12.One step deviation in tyre size is no harm but stick to the stock rim size.
5.Drive the car on petrol for 20 to 25 km atleast once a week.
These are some really simple maintanence tips for Alto.Alto is a nice car but never expect too much from it.
As for the gear ratio is concerned,
1st gear - 5km/h
2nd gear- 10km/h
3rd gear- 30km/h
4th gear- 40km/h
5th gear- 65 km/h
Keep this gear ratio from day one and you will enjoy a problem-free drive.
