hello guys...
im looking for some help regarding the EPS (electronic power steering) of my car. its not nearly as soft it should be or as it used to be long ago. its almost as gud as a simple hydrolic power steering. Here are the details.
The car in question is a 2006 honda city idsi. tire size 185.65.r14 (tires are not the issue i know) mileage is 252,000kms.
Last year, the suspension was replaced. the end tie rods, control arms (chimtay) and goli set inside the assembly was changed. Cut bush (also called D bush) were also changed. 3 months later, the control arm bushes gave up n i got them replaced. now, once again, the complete suspension needs to be changed and my mechanic suggested to use kabuli parts this time (last time, everything was brand new) i have to get the work done in a day or two now n parts have arrived.
the steering wheel was hard all the time. getting new suspension didnt help n having a dead suspension (with some play) didnt help either. what could it be? could it be the battery? i have 45 amp battery. i think it should be enough. or could there be something wrong with the rack n pinion a.k.a "kanghi"??
recently test drove an idsi for a friend and realized that its steering wheel was twice as soft as mine!
Please shed some light, experts.
