Kashmir went with India.
Hari Singh, the maharaja of Jammu and Kashmir, wanted time to decide whether Kashmir should go with Pakistan or India - or stay independent. Before he had time to decide, he accused Pakistan's leaders of sending plain-clothed soldiers into Kashmir, and of blocking supplies of food and petrol. He soon became afraid of being overrun by Pakistan, so he decided to accede to India. He signed the Instrument of Accession - and Kashmir became a state with special status within India.
So isn't rightfully Kashmir a part of India as stated above?
Further down in the article, it says that Kashmir is 2/3 owned by India, and the remaining 1/3 is owned by Pakistan.
But, then Pakistan is claiming that since majority of Kashmir is Muslim, it deserves to be ruled under Islamic law or something like that.
India is worrying that if Kashmir becomes part of Pakistan, other states might do so and that will cause havoc in controlling land.
Tension is highest at these times, because it is believed that attacks in India is done by ISI and a few individuals from Pak. Govt to take over Kashmir. Rest Allah SWT knows best:)
Why can't they just become friends urrghh-.-
Or could it be because Pak Govt. is afraid of big terrorist groups forcing them to fund taking over Kashmir etc?
