Minimum setup of TPS sensor option is common on both PLUS and BASIC. Other options which plus includes are four switches to toggle between Static Advance, Dynamic Advance, Square Wave Emulation, M. Marelli Emulation, Open Loop Emulation, Adjustable Advance and Standard Advance. By default, we are not harvesting any of the advance features that Plus offers such as Dynamic Advance and Adjustable Advance which is offered for few vehicles such as GM and Renault so “BASIC” is all what is required and we select same options on “PLUS” which is just like using Basic.
People make all sorts of mistake while selecting options on switches and recently I feel, made the same mistake on PLUS that why P0102 error code appeared, probably also need to verify the mistake which I am going to do later after reinstalling PLUS.
In image below:
Switch No 1: “dynamic Advance”, if bent towards the number 1 then your Dynamic Advance Option is selected which is basically meant for GM and Renault.
Switch No 1: “Static Advance”, if bent away from the number 1 as labeled on the device the Static Advance Option is selected. This option works well for our vehicle and basic offers the same feature by default.
Switch No 2 & 3: “Square Wave Emulation”, if switches 2 and 3 are bent towards 2 and 3 then square wave emulation works and for this feature to work, wiring has to be connected with oxygen sensor.
Switch No 2 & 3: “ M. Marelli Emulation” , if switches 2 is bent away from 2 whereas switch 3 is bent towards 3 then M.Marelli Emulation option is selected. For this to work, oxygen sensor has to be connected. Anyway notes, manufacturer manual does not provides why we should select between Square wave Emulation or M.Marellu Emulation option if we connect oxygen sensor and also does not provides any clue such as which option be selected with which vehicle. Poor documentation by manufacturer.
Switch No 2 & 3: “Open loop Emulation”, if switches 2 and switch 3 is bent away from label 2 and 3 then Open loop Emulation is selected. Oxygen sensor has to be connected.
Switch 4: “ Adjustable Advance”, if switch 4 is bent towards label 4.
Switch 4: “ Standard Advance”, if switch 4 is bent away from 4. This is a option, we select on most of the local cars whereas “BASIC
CHIP” comes preset with this option. also manual says basic does not offers any of the function related to oxygen sensor as offered by advance. People normally select standard option as vehicle works well but documentation, notes on internet does not provides any reference to why should we select standard advance and why not adjustable advance.
