I had a problem with my car's CNG conversion from petrol to CNG. The mechanic removed the emulator who has a bundle of wires with it and connected Relay at its place. When i look at the Emulator i feel as if a very important part of CNG has been removed and when i asked why he has removed he says its normal procedure in CNG vehicles. A relay performs better than Emulator. I want to ask is it wise act of the mechanic to replace emulator with relay, and in relay there are hardly 2 to 4 wires while in Emulator there is a bundle of wires and i don't know how to re-plug or install it. My Car is Honda Civic 2003 Vti.
Very important part. Consult some other mechanic and put the wires back. The Emulator is main component of Cng kit.
Still waiting for the expert opinion.
if no engine check light on cngand if no petrol is being consumed while driving on CNGu r good to go! (without emulator and with existing relay )
I heard that without emulator injectors run dry and gets faulty, would that be a case? Or relay can manage all the things and i need not to worry?
now that makes sense to me
As far as I know the emulator does the same job as the relays. i.e. It powers off the injectors. They dont run dry, actually they dont run at all. This is if the fuel pump is not disconnected on cng. Even on cng the fuel pump is usually working and fuel is flowing in system keeping the injectors cool.
it means i don't need to worry as the car is fine on both petrol and CNG, the only thing which makes me apprehensive is the injectors do not get faulty or i may not face any grave trouble but at the same time i don't want to visit any electrition again as i don't want to see another "Cut WADD" with car's wiring
In Emulator there are 3 things1) Relays to cut Fuel Injectors2) Time delay ckt (for soft transition from Petrol to CNG with no noticeable jerk)3) Dummy Load resistors (to cheat ECU)
So what do u suggest, should i go to reinstall emulator or let my car as it is??
Yup emulator is better option go for it instead of simple relay
agin cutt wadd with the wiring, ufff it makes me crazy, the electritions stupidly cut it and quickly insulate it with substandard solution tapes, (A)
