I have read following post on toyotaownersclub.com nd thought to share it nd require expert opinions as it would b help 4 those who r involved in SWAPS......
"Hello ppl ... I have a ee90 corolla with 1.3 2e petrol carburetor engine. I can get a very cheap car AE91 corolla with a red interior and a 1.5 EFI engine fully working and the car in perfect condition. I can't drive this AE91 cos its not road legal and can't be. If it was road But I can swap everything from the AE91 to my EE90 seats, panel, engine, suspension, doors, bonnet, trunk every thing."
But the problem is that i dont want to alter my ee90 in anyway so my question:
- Can the 1500cc engine from the ae91 be fitted bolt to bolt on the ee90? (with the gearbox)
- ee90 doesn't have an ECU so can we swap the wiring as well?
- Will there be any problems in the swapping of the interior or are they both the exact same size?
- Will the suspension fit?
- Can the chassis made for the 1300cc engine take the load of the 1500cc engine as well?
I want it to feel like the AE91 as well. I'm confused if i should go ahead this or not.
I'm scared i'll ruin both cars if something goes wrong.
Any help would be highly appreciated.
