Yes there have been some teething issues with common rail diesel technology. But the fact is that most people will tell you that the max mileage to be expected from a passenger car diesel in Pakistan is 100k!
Apparently DENSO designed injectors work better than Bosch and Delphi, but only Volvo uses denso as per my info (i could be wrong).
Having said all that, I must admit that our fuel is HORRIBLE. Our diesel has about 7000 ppm of sulphur (bad for health and the environment, good for diesel engine pumps and injectors). But it has a lot of other shit too and that is the real killer...
The real problem is that the government doesn't really follow any set standards on diesel quality. There were recent talks about adopting Euro 5 standard diesel.
maybe then we can enjoy the joys of diesel motoring...
