Aoa brothers,
Recently my Cuore auto acted strange when i took her out for a drive around 2 months back, the lights started to dim out and before you know it I parked her back in the porch and under the cover and she wont start again. I replaced the battery with another charged one and shes running like new. I did not drive her for over a month and the same thing happened.
Some of you already know how much i use this 4th car of mine, intended to be used on Sundays, now its not even Sundays, its goes up to to 2 months before i start her and drive.
Despite being a 2004 model she is only 42000 km driven with full Toyota service history. Almost scratch less with everything original like including the spare wheel as if she just came out of the showroom registered as 2015 ALHUMDULILLAH.
I have never ever let any roadside mechanic touch her , a similar issue took place back in 2010 and i took her to Toyota who have her service history. They smiled and kept her for a day and when i picked her up they said it was nothing but a weak battery "please drive her more often".
I am not going to let any tom dick n harry replace parts and screw up other things in this beauty as i was suggested by a trusted electrician to change the alternator/generator. Even if it is to be changed , i would prefer Toyota to do it.
A friend suggested to use a torching wire and start her and see if she remains start for a while with out the wires. If shes dyes out , it means the generator is not working. Also while started and on idle if the battery light is on , it mean the generator is not working.
What do you all suggest.
Regards
