We finally decided to go to Rawalpindi for Engine Swap. Before the swap I preffered to change the wheels as my previous Rims were not good enough to handle much speeds.
So I headed towards the shoba bazar in Peshawar and selected the 16 inches Rims for my B12.
The journey started on 5th of Feb Friday we headed towards Motorway from Peshawar to Rawalpindi around 8pm. Reached there around 11pm after burning a cylinder of CNG that costs me around 650 Rs.
We spent night there at relatives home and early morning reached to the workshop near Golra Mor at 8:30 am.
While the mission was about to start we decided to have a breakfast first and right after that mechanics get involved and started pulling out engine parts.
Around 11 am we headed towards Mithoo Khan to met with honourable Mr. Mushtaq sab. He was really a nice person and more than my expectation co operative and very knowledgable.
Well we ask him to show us QG18 and then the point came that confused us.
He showed me several Engines, but the one he forced me for was with ETB (Electronic Throttle Body). The engine was in immaculate condition with its own A/T, Harness to Harness wiring, Accelerator Pedal with Sensor, ECU and Air Filter. I really liked the engine but the thing making me confuse was about ETB. So I called several my known persons and discussed with them regarding ETB and A/T. Some of them said go for it and some of them said avoid it, now the decission was on me.
I finally decided to get this but without Automatic Trany, because taking two Risks (A/T and ETB) at same time is not a good idea. So I told Mushtaq to give me this engine without Trany.
Mushtaq Guys started taking off engine, in the meanwhile we come to know that our existing Transmission with GA15DE is not good enough to handle QG18DE, so we decided to get the new manual Transmission also. Mushtaq arranged the new Trany for us with some big bore type and also gave me Exedy Japan Sports Clutch plate.
We loaded all the spares in the suzuki pickup and headed towards the workshop, in the meanwhile Mushtaq bhai gave the wiring, ecu and sensor pedal to Malang ustad to prepare it.
Upon reaching workshop we started to assemble engine with Tranny and check all the other stuff.
Now time came to put that Monster in my B12.
After placing the engine now time to install its stuff, such as Airfilter, Coils radiator hoses etc etc.
Things are almost done. After this task we called Malang Ustad to play his role, but he was so busy and said that he cant wire it up today, thankful to @dani_kk who was there and he convinced him to complete the task today.
After so much calling and struggle Malang Ustad agreed to come around 8pm to start the engine. We were waiting anxiously for his arrival. Finally he arrived at 9:30pm and gets busy in wiring up the stuff.
Everything was wired up properly but there was no pulse coming to ETB (Electronic Throttle Body). We tried to start the engine but failed, it was about 11:30pm and at that time Malang Ustad said that its enough for today and there seems fault in ECU. He said he will come tomorrow and bring some other ECU along him to check why the Pulse is not coming.
Very next day he arrived at 12 pm and also bring some other ECU along him, but before changing ECU he checked the wiring thoroughly again and find some fault in it.
Upon fixing the fault he asked me to start the Engine, and with the grace of Almighty Allah the Engine started upon First Contact. We all were happy and congartulating each other.
The final thing was to screw up the Accelerator Pedal with sensor in its own place and properly tape the wiring and put the ECU UNDER THE CARPET [emoji1]
The Final Looks of my B12
The Engine cover is yet missing which Mushtaq bhai promised to give me at his earliest, which will beautify my ride more.
